Drake hands stacks of cash to strangers on street after strip club controversy

Drake has been recorded handing out big wads of cash to strangers on the street following his recent strip club controversy.

In a bid to spread some festive cheer, Drake was spotted handing out money to some people during the Christmas period in his home town Toronto, Canada.

A lucky fan had recorded their encounter with the superstar rapper, which took place on Sunday, and shared it on social media.

In the short clip, Drake can be seen sitting in the backseat of a Maybach motor while giving a sizeable stack of Canadian 20-dollar bills to people walking by.

A woman can be heard in the video saying: “Oh my god, this is crazy,” while a man adds: “Thank you, bro. I appreciate it guys, take care.”

The musician then replied to them and said: “You already know.”

Earlier this year, the Canadian rapper received a tonne of backlash after rumours circulated that he had spent $1million (£746,000) at a strip club joint after the Astroworld tragedy.

The Motto star reportedly went wild at a Houston strip club the day after leaving the Astroworld music festival, where he and Travis Scott encouraged behaviour which caused a fatal stampede.

The festival took place in November and had a total of 10 people die from being caught up in the crushed crowds, with many others injured.

The 10 victims were aged between 14 and 27 and over 300 visitors were injured.

The rapper has offered to cover the costs of the funerals for the victims who died in the concert disaster.

Sarah Alvarez-Galindo, a 23-year-old Astroworld attendee, revealed that she was pushed over as the crowd surged out of control.

As panicked fans moved forward, Sarah was trampled and she has now been left with the distinct imprint of a boot on her face.

Sarah told The Sun that someone fell backwards onto her, knocking her to the ground, and she was unable to get back up because of the melée.

“I thought I was going to f***ing die,” she said, adding that her body felt like it was “on fire” from the dozens of people stepping on her.

“It wasn’t until a few guys started screaming ‘there’s a body on the floor, there’s a body on the floor’ that anyone realised I needed help.”
