D. Hill, the producer behind hits for the likes of Drake, Lil Wayne, Future and Lil Uzi Vert, has died.
The news was confirmed by his grandmother as she took to social media to share the devastating news, revealing her “sweet” grandson had died.
Tracey West penned: “Y’all please pray for my family… My sweet grandson Darius Hill has passed away…
“Continue to Pray for his Family and Friends as we all go through the day ahead.”
Taking to Instagram in view of his 18 million followers, Future penned: “Lost for words. RIP @d.hill.
“U did legendary s**t in such ah short time… Rest up lol bro [sic].”
Following his death on Thursday night, rapper Playboi Carti who was performing in Nashville, Tennesse, paid tribute to his pal by performing in front of a backdrop that read: “RIP D Hill”.
It is not yet known how D Hill died, or his age at the time of his death.
D Hill was best known for working alongside Drake and Future on their Grammy-nominated record, Life Is Good, as well as their Dark Lane Demos project, Desires.
As well as working with Drake, Darius had also worked with the likes of Lil Wayne and worked with Future and Lil Uzi Vert’s album, Pluto x Baby Pluto.
His work had seen him build a social media following of over 26,000 Instagram followers.
Just four years ago, Darius began working as a producer, admitting to sleeping on sofas during work trips as well as in his car while attempting to make a name for himself.
Speaking to Complex, he revealed: “There’s a guy named Guap Tarantino and he’s a Freebandz artist.
“After working with him and staying consistent with him, everything else started to unfold.”
He went on to say: “Future’s part is solely produced by me, OZ, he works closely with Drake, so that was his production, along with Ambezza, a producer who is super talented.
“The idea of them merging two songs together, that’s something [Future and Drake] did. I sent that beat to Future months ago.
“I’m glad they merged the two songs together, that was a good collaboration opportunity, and it’s going crazy right now.”
