Eamonn Holmes is waiting for a diagnosis from the doctor, revealing the onset of the Easter break means his results will be delayed until next week.
The This Morning star, 61, went to the hospital earlier this week after suffering from chronic pain, hoping to get to the bottom of the discomfort.
While Eamonn has been permitted to return home, the TV personality revealed he is none the wiser as to the root of the problem.
Thanking his fans for their messages of support, Eamonn admitted he is still experiencing pain.
“My pain hasn’t gone away,” he said.
“Understandably and unluckily for me the professionals who analyse and diagnose are on an Easter break. So to everyone, Twitter community, family and friends who are asking: ‘What’s wrong?’
“Unfortunately I won’t know until middle of next week.”
Eamonn confessed the many messages sent in from his fans had brought a smile to his face, even in the midst of his chronic pain.
He said: “Honestly folks, talking to you guys helps me forget the pain for 20 minutes. I hope you are talking to each other as well.
“I’ve felt all of you suffering from chronic pain & learned a lot. This is not about whose pain is the worst. This is about finding out how big the problem is.”
Eamonn also vowed to use his platform as one of the UK’s biggest names in television to raise awareness of chronic pain, which is a persistent pain that carries on for longer than 12 weeks.
He went on: “I’ve felt for you all, promise to promote this cause, been sad on your behalf and even found time for a chuckle where I didn’t think there could be one…
“Meaning all offers of pain relief cannot be accepted however sincerely meant.
“Another thing which is a bit taboo in mainstream media is prayer. It goes by many more acceptable names these days mindfulness or meditation…”
Eamonn previously admitted he was feeling “pain like I’ve never experienced in my life” when he first checked into the hospital.
His fans and celebrity friends have since been rallying around in a show of support, all hoping Eamonn will find a remedy for the pain.
Eamonn and his wife Ruth Langsford were meant to present next week’s episodes of This Morning, filling in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield over the Easter break.
Lorraine Kelly assured viewers the Northern Irish presenter would make it on to Monday’s show, addressing his health battle on Friday’s show.

She said: “He’s a total trooper. He’s in chronic pain, and had to go to the hospital yesterday.
“But he will definitely be on This Morning next week. You know what he’s like, nothing’s gonna stop him.
“But I think it’s really good, he’s also going to be talking about chronic pain, what causes it.”
