Disney has finally released the first official trailer for the live-action remake of its cartoon classic 101 Dalmatians, titled Cruella, with Hollywood starlet Emma Stone starring in the lead role.
In the trailer, which was simply captioned “Brilliant. Bad. A little bit mad”, Stone is first seen with vibrant red hair, before she dons Cruella’s trademark black and white curly wig.
In one scene, she wears a daring red dress with a cheeky choker collar to tear through the streets of London in a vintage car.
The American actress puts on her best English accent for her role in the film.

In one scene, Cruella is seen twirling in her classic black and white spotted dress made of Dalmatian fur.
After watching the exciting trailer, one fan tweeted: “Her accent and the visuals look amazing and she looks stunning. Emma Stone will knock this out.”
Stone radiates feminine energy as she narrates on the voiceover, “I am woman, hear me roar.”

She continues: “The thing is, I was born brilliant. Born bad. And a little bit mad. I’m Cruella.”
Fans say she bears a striking resemblance to Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn from the popular Suicide Squad franchise, as she’s seen with mascara tears running down her face in the final shot.
One excited fan took to Twitter to say: “This is giving me ‘Harley Quinn’s mad British Auntie’ vibes and I’m here for it *laughs in evil*”.
Another wrote: “Emma Stone looks A-M-A-Z-I-N-G as Cruella de Vil! I can already see everyone dressing up like her for Halloween, like a Harley Quinn and Maleficent situation! It’s that good.”
The film also stars Hollywood legends including Emma Thompson and Mark Strong.
It’s rumoured the story delves into Cruella’s beginnings as a fashion designer before she became the notorious dog-napper in 101 Dalmatians.
Cruella, which was initially set for release in December 2020, has been delayed until May 2021 due to pandemic restrictions.
