Emma Watson dazzles in backless ensemble at event after 'ditching fame' claims

Emma Watson was a picture of beauty as she attended a showbiz event in a backless ensemble after returning to the spotlight.

Earlier this year, fans were left gutted when reports suggested her Hollywood career had gone “dormant” – but it’s clear that is not the case.

The Harry Potter actress, who played Hermione Granger, attended the Earthshot Prize ceremony at Alexandra Palace in London on Sunday.

The 31-year-old rocked a visually interesting black and white ensemble on the green carpet, consisting of a floor-length top and trousers.

The beauty slipped into the white top, which featured lace detailing at her decoletage to keep it in place, and at the bust.

It then cascaded into long, flowing strips of delicate tulle which flowed down one side, giving the look of a waterfall as some sections of the stunning garment hit the floor.

The lace trim ran around the back too, dipping down to her waist as she posed with her uncovered back to the cameras.

And while the top of her ensemble was full of drama, she opted for a simple pair of flared black trousers underneath.

The Hollywood starlet had her honey blonde hair chopped into a jaw-length bob, with her natural darker colour coming through at her roots.

She let some lightly curled strands fall over her face, but tucked the other side behind her ear for a chic ‘do.

Emma wore some dangling earrings in glittering gold and pearly whites to match her simple colour palette.

The Beauty and the Beast star added some more drama with her makeup, as although she went for a light look, she applied fine silver glittery shadows around her eyes.

She finished the look off with a rosy pink shade on her lips, which she parted as she gently smiled at waiting photographers.

Finally, she painted her nails a stark white and added plenty of chunky gold rinks and some bracelets for some more glam.

Emma was in good company at the ceremony, as Prince William and Catherine Middleton also attended.

The Earthshot Prize honours five winners with a £1million award so they can each pursue a solution to an environmental problem.

And while it’s not some show-stopping Hollywood premiere, it’s clear Emma is still very much part of the showbiz world.

Earlier this year, the Daily Mail suggested she had quit acting to focus on her romance with boyfriend Leo Robinton, saying she “has gone ‘dormant’ according to her agent”.

However her manager denied the claims, saying: “Emma’s social media accounts are dormant but her career isn’t.”

With that said, though, Emma’s last on-screen role was in 2019 as Meg March in Little Women, and she doesn’t have anything coming up in the near future, according to IMDb.
