Emmerdale spoilers have hinted Harriet Finch’s web of lies is set to unravel in upcoming scenes, as she wages an internal war.
Since the murder of crooked copper DI Malone (Mark Womack), Harriet’s mental health has declined, her conscience conflicted after becoming an accomplice to murder.
Last year, Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) killed Malone in an act of self defence after the corrupt policeman spent months blackmailing her family.
Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) helped Dawn to bury his body, taking advantage of the church grounds to hide the evidence.
So far, just Dawn, Harriet, and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) are aware of the murder, with the trio living in fear their dark secret will be uncovered.

Malone’s body lies in the local graveyard, but upcoming scenes will see newcomer Charles Anderson, played by Kevin Mathurin, reveal they are set to exhume the spot in the days to come.
He approaches Harriet while she’s staring at the grave, revealing the gravediggers will unearth the corpse of a man named Richard in the days to come.
As the cemetery workers get digging, squaring off the site, Harriet watches them fearfully, only for Charles to approach her and check how she is doing, expressing his concern for her wellbeing.

Harriet grows upset, claiming she doesn’t agree with the exhumation, breaking down before him.
Charles grows even more concerned and slowly realises Harriet is seriously struggling with her mental health.
He launches into prayer during the exhumation, speaking sensitively about Richard, the man intended to be exhumed.
Meanwhile, watching from the sidelines, Harriet is restless, secretly wishing she could be alone.
Suddenly, one of the diggers is startled, as he notices something strange in the ground at the digging site.
Harriet freezes in terror, convinced her dark secret has been exposed – but what will the foremen find in the unearthed soil?
Elsewhere, Will finds a letter written by Harriet and starts to panic over the contents of the handwritten note.
Could the mystery letter signal the unraveling of their cover-up of Malone’s accidental murder?
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with a second helping on Thursdays at 8pm.
