Emmerdale stars’ sweet Christmas celebrations as Charley Webb ‘quits’ soap

Charley Webb has shared her family’s wonderful Christmas celebrations with a sweet clip on Instagram of her children enjoying the big day.

It comes after the 33-year-old soap star reportedly quit Emmerdale earlier this week amid her husband Matthew Wolfenden’s alleged race row.

The actress played the role as Debbie Dingle for the past 19-years on the ITV soap, but it has since been reported that the brunette beauty will be stepping down from her role.

According to reports, last month it emerged that Matthew and Isabel Hodgins found themselves at the heart of racial claims that the long-standing actors inappropriately mimicked an actress who is of mixed heritage.

While the allegations were being investigated, the 41-year-old actor – who plays the role of David Metcalfe – and his onscreen love interest Isabel – who performs the role of Victoria Barton – were swiftly written out of the show.

As rumours swirled around the TV stars, an inside source told The Sun: “Charley is closing the door on Emmerdale for good and won’t be going back.”

But over the festive holiday, the doting parents made sure to put all worries aside as they focused on the Christmas weekend with their three children.

Charley, who shares sons Buster, 11, Bowie, five and Ace, two, with her TV sweetheart took to social media following the big day to share how their little ones excitedly spent Christmas morning.

The clip started as the boys bounded down the stairs and burst through a roll of wrapping paper which had been taped to the kitchen door, hiding the slew of Christmas presents nestled under the tree.

While they squealed in excitement, the trio rocked matching pyjamas for the big day as Bowie and Ace danced around the living room after seeing that Father Christmas had visited.

The children then raced to unwrap all of their presents that their doting parents had bought for them before the loving couple were seen testing out some of the products themselves.

Much to the hilarity of the kids, Matthew couldn’t resist hopping on one of the children’s toys as he jumped around the kitchen on the space hopper.

As the family-of-five enjoyed a much-needed celebration, the loving actress said that she was “thinking of everyone” as she thanked her loyal legion of fans for all of their love on social media over the past year.

She captioned the memorable clip: “Christmas 2021 [heart emoji] Thank you for everything this year, you guys are my favourite Instagram team. I love sharing things with you guys and all our little chats.

“I hope you all had the loveliest day and I’m thinking of everyone that may have had a harder day yesterday. Love you all lots.”
