Emmerdale's Aaron Dingle suffers brutal attack as he is accused of theft

Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) hasn’t been given an easy ride lately – from seeing his sister Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) in a hospital bed after the van crash that killed Paul Ashdale (Reece Dinsdale) to his husband being behind bars.

But things are about to get tougher as Aaron becomes embroiled in more trouble alongside Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).

As Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) continues to accuse Faith (Sally Dexter) of stealing her brooch, Aaron overhears them talking and – knowing the truth – realises he needs to do something to remedy the situation.

While Eric (Chris Chittell) attempts to convince Brenda that he only has eyes for her, his heartbroken partner is adamant it could be the end of the road for their relationship for as long as Faith remains on the scene.

Confronted by Aaron, Mack refuses to return the brooch, leading to him taking matters into his own hands and stealing it back.

A determined Aaron breaks into Pollard’s barn to return the jewellery, but he’s caught red-handed and brutally hit by Pollard’s baseball bat as he tries to escape.

Eric knocks Aaron to the ground with the force of his blow.

The next day, Mack visits Aaron in the hospital and tries to convince him to keep his mouth shut about his involvement in the jewellery theft – but will Aaron agree to his demands?

Eric, meanwhile, is baffled when he and David discover Brenda’s brooch has been returned, with Eric insisting it wasn’t there earlier.

They begin to suspect that Aaron broke in to return the brooch on Faith’s behalf, but the woman herself is distraught when they continue to accuse her of having a hand in the thievery.

Pollard is left stunned when the police turn up and charge him for causing Aaron’s injuries.

And at Frankie’s christening, tensions continue to mount between Eric and the Dingles, leading to a stressed-out Tracy (Amy Walsh) asking Pollard to take her home.

But how severe will Aaron’s injuries be – and what will become of Eric?

Meanwhile, Emmerdale fans are predicting romance could be on the cards for Aaron and Mack, after the duo were spotted ‘flirting’ in the scrapyard.

And Mack implied that he might not be solely interested in women after sleeping with Charity (Emma Atkins) as she asked if his lines “work on other women”.

“No, it’s not just women. The trick with people is telling them what they wanna hear,” Mack replied.

One fan wrote on Twitter: “I see Aaron & Mackenzie are still showing off their great chemistry!”

While another predicted: “I genuinely think they’re holding off on Mack and Aaron until they have to stop social distancing. Works for me because it means they’ll get more character work done.”

Emmerdale airs at 7pm on weekdays on ITV
