Emmerdale actor Jurell Carter has shared a link to a disturbing conspiracy theory that included satanism and blood-drinking.
While hitting out at the Covid-19 vaccinations, Jurell posted the unusual link on his Instagram stories.
The profile included distressing and false claims about actors and celebrities who are involved in satanism, child sacrifice and blood-drinking.
In the actor’s other posts he seemed to agree that the world is run by secret societies and that elections hold no power.
Jurell, 25, recently surprised his 11.2k followers on Instagram with a post that claimed the vaccine is an experiment.
In more recent times The Sun revealed that Emmerdale will be the first British soap to have a main character receive the vaccination.
But the actor, who plays Nate Robinson in the show ,had some stern words regarding this.
Taking to Instagram he wrote: “If you wanna take this experimental vaccine, go ahead but don’t start pushing people to take it or start promoting it.
“I’m even seeing others demonising others for not wanting it.”
The soap star added: “Your body, your decision, my body, my decision. The blind leading the blind. And I’m not here for it.”
However, this is not the only comments regarding the vaccination that Jurell has posted on his Instagram stories.
On Thursday, the star posted a picture on his Instagram that insinuated that his freedom is being taken away.
The post read: “Sometimes your freedom is not taken away at gunpoint but instead it is done one piece of paper at a time, one seemingness rule at a time, one small silencing at a time.”
In December the Emmerdale star posted other false claims regarding the vaccine and shared his doubts on its safety.
Very recently, it has been revealed that character Eric Pollard, played by Chris Chittell, 72, will inform his family that he’s had the jab in an episode to be screened in coming weeks.
To keep up with the current developments, Emmerdale scriptwriters have been working around the clock due to the six-week lag before the programme appears on screen.
MPs have also encouraged soaps to depict a real representation of what is currently happening in the UK, as it may help those who are reluctant to receive the jab. They also believe it may aid drive the take-up in ethnic minority groups.
Labour MP Chris Evans explained: “Soap operas have such a massive reach sometimes more so than big advertising campaigns.”
In January, Emmerdale and Coronation Street were both forced to shut down after a crew member on Emmerdale tested positive for Covid.
Deep cleaning was then undertaken at the Leeds studios to ensure filming could still proceed safely.
ITV bosses then decided to pause production on both soaps to give actors and crew a break during the pandemic.
A source at the time spoke about the productions: “It’s been a really hard year for both soaps. They’ve had to work through the most difficult period in television history.
“Everyone has decided that a break is in order, which is almost unprecedented. The storyliners plan a long way in advance, and there’s certain things they’d have hoped they could write in for later in the year.”
Speaking on the closure at the time an Emmerdale spokesperson said: “We paused filming on Emmerdale last week due to some members of the team testing positive for Covid-19.
“We’ve carried out proper track and trace measures on those cases and undertook intensive cleaning of the production building, whilst reinforcing the health and safety protocols we have in place.”
