Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve figured out the path of Meena Jutla’s downfall – and it’s down to a piece of jewellery.
Meena, played by Paige Sandhu, snatched Leanna Cavanagh’s (Mimi Slinger) ring when she murdered her in cold blood, pushing her over the Humpback Bridge on the outskirts of the village.
After leaving Leanna to drown, Meena kept the teenager’s ring for herself, the jewellery a token of the harrowing crime.
Watching from home on Monday evening, viewers were horrified to think Meena still had the ring – and predicted it would expose her as the culprit.
Meena has been wearing the ring on a gold chain, which dangled from her neck in plain sight of Leanna’s grief-stricken father, Liam (Jonny McPherson).
As brazen as could be, Meena has been offering comfort to Leanna’s loved ones – all the while wearing the dead teen’s ring on the chain around her neck.
One viewer wrote: “Just spot the f****** ring Jakey! #Emmerdale.”
A second penned: “This is it, if Meena was so clever why did she leave her fingerprints on Leanna AND take the b****y ring? How long will it be before she’s found out.”
“She’s still wearing the ring,” added a third.
And a fourth remarked: “Meena taking charge – in the same room with a grieving father while wearing her murder victim’s ring.”
Jacob and Meena had a heart-to-heart on the Humpback Bridge as the forensic team sifted through the shallow water of the river, hoping to unearth the truth of Leanna’s mysterious death.
At first, Meena appeared to comfort an emotional Jacob, who has held himself accountable for Leanna’s untimely death.
However, when Meena suggested it was Leanna’s “time to die,” a horrified Jacob stepped away from the bridge, staring at the Emmerdale newcomer in horror.
Pointing out Leanna was just 18 at the time, Jacob wondered how Meanna could be so blasé about her death.
