Former Coronation Street star Sean Ward was led away in handcuffs during an anti-vaccination protest in London.
The actor, best known for portraying Callum Logan on the Cobbles, was pictured in between two police officers, who were holding on to each of his arms.
Met Police said four officers were hurt during the protest, as a horde of protesters attempted to storm the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in London on Friday.
The building is where Covid jabs were initially approved.
Our Girl actor Sean, 33, is believed to be one of hundreds of activists who surrounded the building in the capital.
Metropolitan Police told Daily Star they do not comment on individual arrests and it is not currently known why Sean was led away by officers.
Sean was dressed in black trousers and a white t-shirt, walking with his mouth open as he gazed down at the ground.
The female police officer next to him carried a brown leather backpack, which could have belonged to Sean as it was tangled around one arm, as she led him away from the scene.
Shocking footage was also posted on Twitter by a member of the public, appearing to show around six officers surrounding Sean and trying to detain him.
Earlier in the day, Sean shared clips of the protests getting underway to his Instagram Stories showing a mob of people travelling together dressed mostly in black.
It is understood that the protesters were demonstrating against Covid jabs for children – despite officials from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation confirming on Friday that vaccines aren’t recommended for healthy children aged 12-15.
Writing on his Story, Sean penned: “Kids don’t need an experimental jab prove us wrong.”
Sean also took a video looking through the windows into the MHRA building, telling the camera: “We’ve got two people in the MHRA building.”
He added: “The police have fully blocked the doors and won’t let anyone in, as you can imagine, but we’ve already got people in there.”
It comes just a month after the Coronation Street actor headed to the BBC and ITV film building and joined thousands who clashed with cops.
In a video, Sean could be seen attempting to stop protestors battling with police forces, and could be seen yelling ‘stop’ and putting his arms out.
One police officer sustained a minor facial injury during the protest in August.
Metropolitan Police tweeted earlier today: “We have officers attending a demonstration outside a commercial building on Cabot Square in Canary Wharf.
“A number of officers are on scene, guarding the entrance to the building.
“Officers also continue to attend a demonstration by separate group in Canary Wharf along Bank Street. Arrests have been made and units remain on scene.”
The account later tweeted: “The group have moved off and travelled to the area around South Kensington. Public order officers are on scene.
“A number of protesters have become violent towards police. Four of our officers have been injured during clashes.
“This is unacceptable. We remain on scene. Updates to follow.”
