Hollywood icon and Star Wars actor Harrison Ford has been spotted in a rather unlikely place – a North Shields restaurant.
Hans Solo himself popped into The Ship’s Cat in Northumberland on Tuesday for a bite to eat, in between filming for the fifth Indiana Jones film at Bamburgh Castle a few miles away.
He wasn’t above chatting to customers during his lunch, as he even posed for selfies with avid fans while kitted out in cycling Lycra emblazoned with PedalMafia across the chest.
Sources spoke to local news outlet ChronicleLive to state that the 78-year-old actor ordered a sea bass costing £17.95, along with a bowl of mussels costing £11.50.
The venue said their star-studded guest was treated as a “normal customer” during his luncheon at the popular restaurant in Fish Quay.
A post was later added to the venue’s Facebook page, with a snap of Harrison acquiescing to a selfie with one fellow diner.
“Imagine sitting here enjoying your coffee then you look over and it’s… Indiana Jones!
“What an honour to have Harrison Ford join us today on the decking here at The Ship’s Cat! You are welcome back anytime. What a legend!” the post concluded.
Fans were quick to comment, as one suggested the restaurant could even invent a special drink to commemorate the occasion.
“You’ll have to come up with a cocktail in honour of Indiana Jones!” they gushed.
Someone else said they had potentially overtaken Harrison while he was cycling along one North Shields road.
“I love him! I’d have been well and truly star struck!” someone else added.
A fourth fan said: “In these strangest of times, just seeing Indiana Jones makes everything feel okay.”
Harrison’s latest filming stint at Bamburgh Castle has seen the historic landmark transformed into a location for Indiana’s latest adventure – even being set on fire for one special scene in the as yet unnamed addition to the franchise.
Photographs were taken of flames erupting from one of the building’s towers, as the castle is currently closed to visitors.
The latest Indiana Jones film is scheduled for release in 2022, and will feature Harrison Ford in his iconic role, and according to iMDB will also feature stars like Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen and Fleabag icon Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

In a first look at the filming for the much-anticipated movie, Harrison can be seen kitted out in his typical adventurer’s attire, from the brown jacket to his brown hat.
The film will be the one to draw the series to a close, as Harrison said Disney didn’t want to revisit the franchise unless they knew how to “kill it”.
“I don’t really want to give [fans] what they want to see, I want to give them something they didn’t anticipate,” Harrison explained to HeyUGuys.
“We’re not going to make another Indiana Jones unless we are in a position to kill it. We want it to be the best.”
