Ex-Blue Peter star Katy Hill has suffered an horrific accident, which has left her with permanent scarring.
The former children’s TV presenter accidentally slipped over and head-butted the toilet.
Katy took a tumble after catching her shoe on a stair before “face-planting” the loo.
It caused a deep two-inch gash down her forehead.
The Sun reported that Katy was then rushed to hospital where she was given both internal and external stitches for the injury.
Katy, 49, who often found herself partaking in daredevil stunts on Big Brother, shared: “It was a bad one and I was very grateful that the impact went down the centre of my forehead.
“As I found out from the doctors, if it had been slightly to either side, I might not be here now because the skull is thin in those parts.
“The irony isn’t lost on me that I used to jump out of planes and all sorts, and yet I injure myself in this way.”
Katy said the scar is a reminder to “live all out in life” after saying she feared it could be the end after waiting for the ambulance.
Speaking about the accident, which occurred 18 months ago, Katy, who lives in Oxfordshire with her family, said it was “a wake-up call”.
Katy shot to fame in 1995 when she joined Blue Peter alongside Stuart Miles, Richard Bacon and Romana D’Annunzio.
She later presented with Matt Baker, Konnie Huq and Simon Thomas.
Katy was awarded a Children’s BAFTA in 2000 for Best Presenter for her work on Blue Peter.
Following her stint on Blue Peter, Katy worked on Live & Kicking, Top of the Pops and Football Focus.
She has also a go at reality television, appearing on short-lived celebrity competition show, The Games.
