Friends reunion 'filming next week' as Ross Geller actor confirms return to set

Friends fans rejoice – it appears the long-awaited Friends Reunion is set to begin filming in a matter of days.

The cult 90s sitcom broke hearts when it came to an end in 2004, having made household names of its six lead characters.

Thankfully, a reunion is in the pipelines – with filming reportedly due to begin as soon as next week.

According to Deadline, HBO Max’s unscripted special will begin production in Los Angeles in the coming days.

HBO Max declined to comment on the alleged filming timetable.

The speculation comes after David Schwimmer confirmed he would be travelling to Los Angeles to shoot in the springtime.

During an interview on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live in early March, he put the date in the diary, admitting filming was penciled in to take place in “a little over a month”.

Andy Cohen asked: “Have you guys shot anywhere?”

David, who famously played Ross Geller on the show, said: “Actually, in a little over a month I’m heading out to LA.

“So, finally, I mean, we figured out a way to film it safely and there’s going to be a portion of it that we filmed outside because of, you know, for safety protocols.”

The Madagascar star also revealed the actors wouldn’t be in character during the unscripted reunion – instead, they would perform as themselves.

Chatting with Graham Norton this season, David confessed he was delighted the cast would finally reunite once again.

“I’m going to LA to shoot the Friends Reunion. I will get to see everyone for the first time in years,” he said.

The reunion will be taped at Stage 24 on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California – the exact same spot where the original sitcom was produced.
