GB News viewers were left moaning on Sunday night after complaining that there was sync issues with the show’s launch.
GB News broadcast up and down the UK for the first time at 8pm – opening with a powerful monologue from chairman Andrew Neil.
But as he gave a passionate explanation of why he believes the nation needs a new TV show, fans were left moaning about the stream.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Is GB News’ video out of sync with the audio for everyone?”
Another added: “Out of sync & feels very dark, are they economising on the lighting? Andrew Neil in a dark suit against a dark background – you can only see his head.”
A third chimed in: “It is in sync but the definition is from the 90s. Really, really poor.”
Meanwhile, a fourth moaned: “Yeah the VT’s are completely spannered.”
However, others thought the station should be given some slack as it was simply launch night.
It’s easier to criticise than it is to create something – always has been, always will be,” one supporter said.
“Congrats to the @GBNEWS team on building a new addition to the TV news pantheon; I’m looking forward to seeing the impact they have.”
A second supporter agreed penning: “@GBNEWS well done GB NEWS looking forward to watching a news channel that will actually tell it as it is.”
Speaking at the start of the show, Andrew couldn’t resist taking a swipe at his former employer the BBC.
“It will not be a echo chamber for the metropolitan mindset.
“We are proud to be British – the clue is in the name.
“While we will never hold back hold back from covering our countries many flaws and problems, we will not come at every story with the conviction that Britain is always at fault, usually to blame when things go wrong. Generally useless.”
Pausing to emphasising the point, Andrew added: “We won’t forget what the B stands for in our title.”
The comment was a clear dig at the BBC, which stands for British Broadcasting Corporation.
He continued: “We will cover the good news as well as the bad. Because, even in grim times there is much and great and uplifting to report and celebrate about our country.
“We will entourage debate and conversation to include voices you don’t hear on other news broadcast.
“We want civilised discourse, not shouting matches.”
