The first-ever episode of Geordie Shore exploded onto our television screens on May 24 2011.
It has been 10 years since James Tindale, Charlotte Crosby, Gaz Beadle, Greg Lake, Holly Hagan, Jay Gardener, Sophie Kasei and Vicky Pattison all stepped foot inside the famous house for the first time.
There have been engagements, epic arguments, loads of sex, new cast members and plenty of “tashing on” over the last decade.
Speaking about the MTV show’s tenth anniversary, reality star James, 30, told Daily Star: “It’s madness. I never ever expected us to do two years, never mind 10.
“When we did the first one we thought it was just going to be a bit of fun and we’d just go back to normal life, but 10 years later it’s still going on.
He added: “I started when I was 19 and didn’t have a clue because there hadn’t been much reality TV then. We filmed it thinking no one was even going to watch it.
“We couldn’t be prepared for it even as much as MTV tried to prepare us. They didn’t even know how much of a success it was going to be.”
Twenty-one series later and Geordie Shore is still watched by adoring fans across the world who have grown up watching the outrageous show.
James appeared in the first 10 series before taking a break but he rejoined the cast for series 20 in 2019.
While some may say the show is the wildest programme on television, the fitness guru explained that some sexy scenes didn’t even get aired.
James explained: “The early stages of Geordie Shore was carnage. You couldn’t write some of the stuff that happened and half the stuff didn’t get shown because it was too much.
“It would be madness and we’d get back to the house and it would be destroyed. There’s not much these eyes haven’t seen.”
Although James has spent the best part of a decade of his life on the Geordie Shore rollercoaster, James says he wouldn’t change any of it.
He said: “I don’t have any regrets. It’s moulded us into who I am today and I am happy with how my life has turned out.
“I had the best 20s I could have asked for really. I got to party, travel the world and live with a random group of people. I’ve also had some really great opportunities on the back of it.”
Geordie Shore will hopefully mark its 10-year anniversary in style later this year, and James has shared his hopes for the whole gang to get back together again to celebrate the milestone.

He said: “We were meant to be going to Colombia to do it, which would have been amazing, but Geordie Shore fans don’t need to worry because something else is planned as well as the reunion happening.
“I don’t really know who’s definitely coming in and who’s not but I would love to see everyone there because we all went through the same start as each other.
“Even if people just come in for a day or just to show their face. They don’t have to stay for the whole time.”
