GMB viewers were left in hysterics after a Tory MP said he had “no idea” where Boris Johnson was – as the Prime Minister sat just metres away from him.
Presenters Alastair Campbell and Susanna Reid were hoping to have an interview with Boris, who hasn’t appeared on the show for over a year.
But to their disbelief, the PM, who was at the Conservative conference in Manchester, chose not to not take part. Instead MP Kit decided to take one for the team.
However, Kit tripped up massively when he said he had no idea where Boris was even though he was being interviewed by another media outlet not too far away.

Alastair asked Kit about Boris’ honesty and questioned if he is honest all the time.
Kit replied: “In my experience yes he is.”
Susanna chimed in and said: “Er are you having to say that because he’s sitting right next you Mr Malthouse?”
Kit responded: “Nope I have no idea where he is, I have no idea where he is.”

But as the camera panned to the left Boris was sitting down being interviewed by another journalist.
Seeing the uncomfortable scenes unfold, viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
One fan penned: “Malthouse saying he doesn’t know where Johnson is, he can’t see him. Camera pans to the left,” followed by a laughing emoji.
Another viewer said: “Is Kit blind? Didn’t he see Boris?”

A third commented: “Put your glasses, he’s behind you.”
“@kitmalthouse was an absolute travesty just now on #GMB -These guys rely on media outlets who don’t hold them to account. Shame on you Kit, your record and that of this current Government is appalling! Well done,” a fourth added.
Although Boris refused to take part in GMB’s questioning some thought it was a bit disrespectful while others thought it was best for the PM to stay well clear of the programme.
One viewer commented: “Why is Boris going to go on there and be bashed by two Labour activist Alistair Campbell and Susanna Reid is really sad because the country does need to put Boris to account for what’s going on #GMB it has become very bias and very sad.”
Meanwhile another joked: “Come on prime minister show your face it’s been 400 days what’s your problem!!! Build back britain more like bring back Boris #GMB.”
