Richard Bacon couldn’t hide his feelings any longer as he confessed to Christine Lampard that he was a “fan” of hers.
Christine, 42, is currently standing in for usual host Lorraine Kelly during the summer break.
Giving insight into the programme ahead, Christine featured on Good Morning Britain with a brief teaser for her show.
The former Dancing On Ice presenter appeared on screens when Richard made the awkward confession – which left football ace Frank Lampard’s wife blushing pink.
He said: “I just want to say I’m a big fan of Christine Lampard’s.”
Looking flustered, Christine chirped back: “I’m a big fan of you guys too.”
Meanwhile, Richard seems to be a huge hit with GMB fans.
Some viewers have even dubbed him better than Piers Morgan.
Today, one person begged: “Richard Bacon please stay.
“Watched him last week too and he’s the best presenter since Piers…#GMB.”
Another wrote: “Richard Bacon is weirdly quite good as a presenter #GMB. Never thought I’d say that.”
Richard has been one of many fluctuating and stand-in host on the programme since Piers Morgan walked out.
According to sources, ITV producers are trying to test what works best with viewers before making any firm decisions.
Piers Morgan left the programme after he’d gone head-to-head with weatherman Alex Beresford.
The TV pair disagreed after Piers had said he “didn’t believe” Meghan Markle in the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The Life Stories star stormed off set, later handing his notice in after he refused to apologise for “having an opinion”.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV.
