GMB's Susanna Reid jibes 'here we go' as Richard Madeley talks spooky encounter

Richard Madeley made a shock confession on Good Morning Britain that he’d once had a spooky encounter on a trip to Disney Land Paris.

Before he could open up about the situation he was interrupted by an unconvinced Susanna Reid.

Competition presenter Andi Peters appeared on the programme to discuss this week’s prize which included a trip to the magical theme park.

Back in the studio, Richard said: “I’ve got to say that is a brilliant prize but I always get a shiver down neck when somebody talks about Euro Disney.”

Interjecting, Susanna remarked: “Oh here we go.”

Richard explained he’d once seen a ghost during a trip to Paris

The veteran TV star continued: “Because I saw a ghost. I saw a ghost on a visit to Euro Disney.

“I definitely saw something, it’s too a long a story to tell here and now but it was very strange.”

Later on in the show, Richard updated on the creepy situation after he had been probed by a sceptical Susanna.

Poking fun, she said: “Earlier we had a ghost story from Richard Madeley.”

Richard hitback at Susanna’s initial “oh here we go” response telling her it reminded him of his wife – Judi Finnigan.

But his ITV partner was keen to get the entire story of what happened.

Susanna was seemingly unimpressed with Richard’s spooky story

Speaking about the scary moment he explained: “It was back in our Paris hotel. It was a modern hotel so not a creepy old building or anything.”

After spotting a figure at the bottom of the bed, he added: “I woke up in the middle of the night and I realised Judi had got out of bed.

“I thought ‘Oh is she sleep walking?’ and my hand hit the real the Judi who was sleeping next to me.”

Susanna reminded kids travelling to Disney Land Paris that it wasn’t haunted

Richard went on, commenting that the creature then “stood up and shot across the room at supernatural speed”.

Unsure of what he had just witnessed, the TV star jumped out of bed to see where the spook had gone.

He continued: “All of the chains were still on the door and the room have gone very cold.”

Still unconvinced, Susanna laughed: “Can I just point out it had nothing to do with Disney Land Paris. It was just a hotel in Paris.

“That’s like saying you Buckingham Palace is haunted because you stayed in a hotel in London.”

She added: “Kids it’s not Disney Land, it’s just a hotel.”

“Listen, you asked for the story,” fumed Richard.
