Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid showed true professionalism during Monday’s show after one of her live interviews didn’t quite go to plan.
Piers Morgan’s former co-star was joined by Adil Ray as they woke up the nation – spending a section of the show talking about the ongoing Covid rules.
Calls are growing for the government to relax the guidlines around social distancing and a maximum of 30 mourners after Her Majesty The Queen was sat alone during the funeral of Prince Philip.
Speaking via video link to the GMB studio, Professor Adam Finn explained the thought process behind the rules and stopping the virus spreading.
However, the counterargument is that now so many people are vaccinated and it is possible to drink outside in groups of six, funerals should be given new rules.
Halfway through the chat, Professor Finn appeared flustered as a noise could be heard off camera, then his phone starting ringing loudly through the interview.
Picking up the device, the scientist quickly apologised to Susanna and Adil while he tried to stop the phone ringing.
Ever the professional, Susanna, 50, quickly jumped it smiling: “Sometimes that happens when you’re on TV.
“People ring you to tell you that you are on the telly.”
Earlier on in the show Susanna wowed fans by showing off her bold new look.
The starlet opted for a dramatic new hair transformation over the weekend ditching her long brunette locks.
Looking stylish as ever, Susanna showed off her short new do and a flurry of blonde highlights.
As she chatted to her co-stars Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins about her look, Susanna confirmed that she had asked for a couple of inches to be shed.
Teasing her image overhaul on Sunday night, Susanna updated her official Instagram account with a snap of her in the hairdressers.
With a mask on her face, Susanna took a selfie with her old locks – hinting at a bit change.
She captioned the shot: “Hair no longer looks like this! Back GMB tomorrow.”
