The highly anticipated revival of Gossip Girl will be premiered in the UK as it comes to BBC One and BBC iPlayer later this year.
After the original series was taken off Netflix, BBC has also landed a deal to bring every episode of the series featuring Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester as Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf to BBC iPlayer.
Gossip Girl fans will be able to watch both the new show and the old series in 2021.
Kristen Bell will also be returning to the new series as the voice of the iconic anonymous source into the “scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite”, so fans will certainly get a sense of nostalgia.

Showrunner Joshua Safran, writer and executive producer on the original series will also be developing the new show which will see an Instagram account act as Gossip Girl – instead of the previous website.
It will take place nine years after Gossip Girl ended on December 17, 2012, after five years.
The series, based on both the bestselling novels by Cecily von Ziegesar and the original show, will bring a new light to the Upper East Siders who are understanding the struggles of having every aspect of your life chronicled.

The new cast will see Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith take part in the show.
It has been confirmed that the new Gossip Girl world will be set in the same place as previously, so there will be references to Blair Waldorf, Chuck Bass, Serena van der Woodsen, Nate Archibald and Dan Humphrey.
The new teens will be back at the previous school of Constance Billard and St. Jude’s, but it has had a slight makeover since we last saw it.

Kristen Bell said on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon that there will be a “really different” twist at the end of the pilot that fans should look out for.
She said: “The new show is really cool because it talks all about how social media has changed us and it’s more risqué because it’s on HBO Max – and there’s a twist at the end of episode one that is really different.”
In the US, the premiere will be on July 9, from 8-9:30pm – though the air date on BBC is yet to be confirmed.
