Halsey goes topless on new album cover and hints she's given birth to first baby

Singer Halsey has posed topless with a baby on her new album cover hinting she may have given birth to her first child.

The 26-year-old pop star revealed she was pregnant in January on Instagram. She tagged her screenwriter boyfriend Alev Aydin in the post but did not confirm he is the father.

The album, Halsey’s fourth, is entitled If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power and depicts her sat on a giant gold throne showing her bare breasts with a baby sat on her knee.

Discussing the Renaissance-inspired image on Instagram, she said the cover is to “reclaim my autonomy” after going through “the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth”.

She went on: “It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the sentiment of my journey over the past few months.

“The dichotomy of the Madonna and the Whore. The idea that me as a sexual being and my body as a vessel and gift to my child are two concepts that can co-exist peacefully and powerfully.

“This cover image celebrates pregnant and postpartum bodies as something beautiful, to be admired.

“We have a long way to go with eradicating the social stigma around bodies & breastfeeding. I hope this can be a step in the right direction!”

Because she used the words postpartum and breastfeeding fans think she may have had her baby with calls of “queen” and “so powerful”.

“I wasn’t drinking. I wasn’t doing drugs. I was f**king overworked – in the hospital every couple of weeks because I was dehydrated, needing bags of IVs brought to my greenroom.”

Halsey recalled she was on tour when she found out she was pregnant.

She said during a TV appearance on chat show The Doctors: “Before I could really figure out what that meant to me and what that meant for my future… the next thing I knew I was on stage miscarrying in the middle of my concert.”
