Harry Potter actress Afshan Azad has announced she is expecting her first child.
The 32-year-old is best known for appearing in the Harry Potter series of films as Ravenclaw student Padma Patil.
She is expecting her first baby with husband Nabil Kazi – and took to Instagram to debut the news as she cradled her baby bump.
The star looked stunning in a long grey dress with her hubby’s arms around her.
She captioned the pic: “The secret’s out everyone – I’m going to be a mummy!!! Thanking Allah SWT for gifting us our biggest blessing yet. Baby Kazi due this July inshAllah.
“Both our hearts are filled with love, excitement and nerves! Not long to go, please keep us all in your prayers.”
Afshan posted another snap of her by herself, surrounded by beautiful greenery and holding her bump.
She wrote: “Thank you to everyone for your kind comments and well wishes. We were so overwhelmed with everyone’s positivity and love yesterday.
“Baby Kazi is already so so loved.
“PS Prepare for a major bump photo-dump over the next few days/weeks. Sorry not sorry.”
Fellow Potter star Chris Rankin, who played Percy Weasley in the hit series, was quick to offer his congratulations, writing: “Wooohoooo! Big love to ya xxxx”.
Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood, wrote: “Awww congratulations Afshan, you’re going to be amazing parents!!”
And Seamus Finnigan actor Devon Murray added: “Congratulations guys. I’m so happy and excited for you both. You’re going to be incredible parents.”
Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in the films, penned: “So excited!!! Baby Kazi has the best parents.”
Even Olympic champion Greg Rutherford was there to congratulate her, adding: “Well done, on the home straight now.”
Afshan added a tweet to thank everyone for their best wishes, writing: “Thank you to everyone for their well wishes and kind words. Such a relief to tell you all the good news.
“Pregnancy is such a rollercoaster of emotions but I can now finally enjoy the remaining few weeks with my baby bump. Feeling all the love today. Thank you.”
She added on her Instagram story: “We’re both so excited for this new journey to becoming parents!
“Now finally you can all now stop assuming, messaging me unsolicited tips on how to get pregnant LOL, comment on my weight-gain, pry and ask me a million times if I am or not – I simply wasn’t ready to say,” she wrote.
“I hope people can respect our privacy and appreciate I just wanted to have a few months in my little bubble before telling any of you.
“I’ve had a very eventful and turbulent pregnancy and wanted to wait and take my time to tell you all.”
