Harry and Sandra Redknapp cannot wait to become grandparents again.
The pair, who met in East London in 1964, described son Jamie Redknapp and girlfriend Frida Andersson-Lourie’s pregnancy as “very exciting” in an honest interview with the Mirror.
They could barely contain their joy as they expressed their glee at welcoming an eighth grandchild to the clan.
During the candid discussion, Harry explained that his football pundit son and Swedish model partner were both “very happy” to be expecting their first child together.
He also let slip that Jamie and Frida had no future plans to discover the sex of their baby.
The former Tottenham Hotspurs manager and his wife of 54-years were asked about their feelings surrounding Frida’s pregnancy.
In the chat with the same publication, Sandra responded: “It’s exciting!”
Harry interjected: “Yeah, we’re very excited. Jamie is very happy and Frida is happy.
“We’re lucky that Jamie has two boys already, Charley and Beau, and our other son Mark has five children, so this will be grandchild number eight.
“We’ve got our hands full!”
The conversation swiftly turned to the gender of the former footballer’s unborn child and Harry was forthcoming with his answer.
He said that the happy couple – who already have other children with different partners – were planning to “keep it a secret” this time around.
Jamie Redknapp shares Beau, 12, and Charley, 16, with ex-wife and Eternal songstress Louise Redknapp.
After 19-years of marriage, Louise and Jamie announced that they were parting ways in 2017, with their divorce becoming official by 2018.
In Louise’s 2021 autobiography, she opened up, explaining her deep regret for not trying to salvage their relationship.
She penned: “I wish I’d tried. I want to say to anyone thinking of running: Just slow down. Don’t run.
“Because once you run too fast, you can’t make up the ground you’ve lost.
“Stop, say what you need, say what you think, don’t be afraid to say what’s really going on. You don’t have to be quiet.”
