Janet Street-Porter said Prince Harry speaks “millennial babble language” in today’s episode of Loose Women.
In a discussion over whether Harry and Prince William would be able to mend the rift between them at today’s unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue, Janet said that the pair spoke “different languages”.
“I’ve noticed over the last couple of weeks that William and Harry now inhabit completely different worlds, but they speak different languages,” she said.
“Last week for example, Harry made a speech to celebrate the Diana awards and in that speech he used the kind of language he’s used on other occasions which is he was thanking people for living an ‘authentic’ life and using word’s like ‘my truth’.
“What I think is actually that Harry now speaks what I call the millennial babble language.”
Ranvir Singh was quick to jump in to defend Duke of Sussex saying: “I wouldn’t say babble language Janet, I think frankly that’s a little bit mean actually.”
Frankie Bridge chimed in to say: “I think that’s a bit of an old fashioned view Janet.”
Janet fired back: “Yes Frankie, I knew you’d say that!”
She continued: “I just think why is his truth any better than anyone else’s truth?”
Ranvir replied: “Yeah but he just wants to be able to tell his truth which he suggests that in the royal family you’re not able to say what you think or feel.”
Gloria backed Janet up and said “I know what you mean. They do take on that manner of that speaking, it’s the words that they use.”
Janet piped up again to say. “Authentic is another word that Harry uses a lot about living your authentic life.
“Well he’s decided to go and live on the other side of the Atlantic and William doesn’t have that choice, now who’s to say one life’s more authentic than the another?”
