Harry Styles doesn’t have to do much to impress his fans, but he got them swooning when he quoted from one of the all time favourite heartbreak films – The Notebook.
The star stopped his show to help a lovelorn fan out, who was holding up banners asking for advice about romance.
Former One Direction singer Harry was performing in Minnesota when he spotted the sign, that said “Should I text him?”
Fans booed the sign loudly but he seemed interested and paused to think about the query.
Fan favourite Harry asked the hopeful sign holder: “Is he nice to you?”
The Watermelon Sugar star then followed up his question with: “In my opinion, if you should [text him], this isn’t even a question”
Clearly speaking from personal experience, Harry continued to give advice to the fan: “If we’re wondering, ‘Should I text him? Should I not text him? I can’t text him too soon. Now we’re thinking about double texting, and that’s a whole different risky business.”
“Now he’s thumbs’ed it, so technically he’s the last one to do something.’ … It’s a whole thing.”
It actually seems like pretty sensible advice, to be honest.
Harry added: “My personal opinion is that if there’s any sort of games, trash, trash, trash, not for you.”
His fans all started clapping, thrilled with his answer.
Many of them loved the fact that he referenced The Notebook.
He featured a line said by Allie’s mum in the movie in reference to boyfriend Noah.
One fan wrote enthusiastically on Twitter “Tell me that Harry’s favourite film is The Notebook without telling me his favourite film is The Notebook.”
Another added “Harry giving love and dating advice and calling a man trash I LOVE LOVE to see it omg”
A third said happily: “Honestly, Harry Styles out there referencing the Notebook while giving dating advice… I mean. What? Yes. What??? YES.”
Many fans are still hoping that One Direction will get back together, after they failed to reunite for their 10th anniversary back in 2020.
If all else fails, Harry could always have his own Agony Uncle column.
