Holly Willoughby could be heading for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, as fans believe they’ve worked out the reason behind her mystery absence from This Morning.
The presenter pulled out of the show for the second day in a row on Wednesday, being replaced by Josie Gibson, who she hailed a “dream”.
Holly, of course, already has links to the ITV reality show, having hosted it alongside Declan Donnelly back in 2018, when the programme was still taking place in the Australian jungle.
So it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch for her to fancy taking part herself.
Taking to Twitter, eagle-eyed fans aired their theories, with one writing: “Another day with no Holly on #ThisMorning… the same week that celebs are isolating for #ImACeleb.”
Someone else wondered: “@schofe Is @HollyWills not on @ThisMorning just code word for Holly going into I’m A Celeb last minute?”
It certainly could be, as this week the celebrities have been isolating in line with Covid-19 regulations ahead of forming a bubble to enter the castle.
However, other fans weren’t so sure after remembering Holly’s reaction after being faced with dogs on the show, as she admitted she finds them “scary”.
Knowing she’d likely be faced with plenty of creepy crawlies on I’m A Celeb, some fans were worried for how Holly might cope.
One Twitter user posted: “Have you seen her with dogs on #ThisMorning? Can’t see this happening any time soon!”
Louise Minchin did a Q&A from isolation for BBC Breakfast earlier this week, and admitted she is “already missing family” after being separated from them.
Meanwhile, Emmerdale star Danny Miller is isolating with his fiancée Steph and just-born baby son Albert.
Posting to Instagram to explain who would be covering his social media accounts, a post to Danny’s page read: “Until Wednesday @djillings will be taking over his social media accounts until Danny’s fiancée @stephjones1710 is home from isolating with Danny, along with their beautiful son, Albert.
“She will then take the reins to laugh along with you every night he’s in there!”
Meanwhile, hosts Ant and Dec have arrived at the castle and said they’re lying in wait for their unsuspecting celebrities.
Posting a sweet snap of them both bundled in puffy black coats in Wales, they wrote: “We’re here! Just holding the fort until our celebs arrive!”
I’m A Celeb is scheduled to start next Sunday (November 21), with a star-studded line-up in place.
But two of the predicted celebrities – Simon Gregson from Coronation Street and Adam Woodyatt from EastEnders – aren’t yet on the roster.
The show usually includes some late arrivals after the main campmates enter the camp – but could Holly be among them?
Phillip Schofield certainly doesn’t seem to think so, as he explained Holly has been suffering from a “two-day” stomach bug which has left her to call in sick.
He explained on Tuesday’s show: “Holly is not here today because she’s got a tummy bug. Nothing more than that. She’ll probably be back tomorrow.”
This Morning airs from 10am weekdays on ITV.
