The Hollyoaks real life couple have happily announced the arrival of their first child together – a baby boy – in a statement released on Instagram alongside a sweet snap which saw their newborn’s foot feature in the shot.
Daisy Wood-Davis and Luke Jerdy have welcomed their son Asa to the world and announced their happy news on Instagram on Saturday evening.
The actress, who played Kim Butterfield until 2018, wrote to her followers: “On Tuesday morning, our world was changed forever.
“Luke Jerdy and I are so proud to announce that we have had a beautiful baby boy. Asa, you have changed everything.”
Daisy then gave details of the snaps she shared, including a sweet tribute to the choice behind the name Asa.
She revealed that when her mum was pregnant with her, Daisy’s dad had written: “I’d like this one for myself”, under the name Asa, with Daisy revealing she was almost called Asa herself.
Another snap showed her grandad’s shop with the words “It’s a boy” sprawled across the window in another sweet gesture.
When Daisy announced the news, she was hit with tonnes of loving comments and likes, with the news hitting a whopping 21,000 likes at the time of publication.
Some famous friends even joined the comments, with singer Pixie Lott writing: “Asa is so perfect and special, so, so, so happy for you both! Eeeee. So much love.”
Hollyoaks co-star Amy Conachan added: “Cannot wait to meet you Asa. I love you and your mum and dad so much.”
Jessamy Stoddart, also of Hollyoaks, said: “Congratulations, Asa is one lucky little boy.”
Daisy and Luke met one another on the soap, with Daisy leaving in 2018 and Luke deciding to step back from his role just last year.
They got engaged in 2019 and while they were meant to wed in 2021, which was pushed back to due to the pandemic, they announced their pregnancy instead.
Earlier this year Daisy wrote: “We have been keeping the biggest (smallest) secret of our lives. We couldn’t let Covid get in the way of any more of our plans so instead of saying I do this year, we’ve been growing and preparing for our precious baby son or daughter (still can’t believe those words are coming out of my mouth).
“Cannot wait to tell you all more about our journey so far.”
The acting duo have received overwhelming love and support from her loved ones and fans after announcing the healthy arrival of their baby boy.
