Former Hollyoaks star Jazmine Franks has revealed her stunning new hairstyle after undergoing an incredible body transformation.
Jazmine shot to fame as she played Esther Bloom in the Channel 4 soap for seven years, but she decided to pursue a dramatically different career path.
The petite 29-year-old turned to powerlifting after leaving the soap in 2018 and embarked on a gruelling fitness journey of lifting weights and changing up her diet.
The actress with a trimmed-down figure after losing one stone, and has since competed in the the All England Powerlifting Championships.
The impressive star hasn’t just been building muscle though, because she’s been sporting her freshly-highlighted blonde hair with stunning straightened flow after ditching the curls.
During the pandemic, the actress further embraced her love of fitness by qualifying as a personal trainer.
Jazmine, who works at the Ignite gym in Manchester, told Manchester Evening News: “I trained as a personal trainer in lockdown and I took up running.
“And I’m doing the Manchester Marathon next month.”
As she shared photos of herself looking strong in her fitness gear on her Instagram the compliments have been pouring in.
“Wow Jazz you look incredible the figure on you. Your hard work is showing big time,” said one follower.
A second wrote: You look absolutely gorgeous as always jazz, I hope you are OK and you look in amazing shape xxx”
A third commented: “You’re looking amazing” as they attached fire-emojis to highlight how great she looked.
A fourth added: “Wow jazz you look incredible the figure on you. Your hard work is showing big time.”
Jazmine was proud to be holding her own in a male-dominated sport which consists of squats, bench presses and deadlifts.
But she’ll be swapping the workout gear for sparkly dresses as she takes on the role of The Magical Mermaid in the panto Treasure Island at the Middleton Arena this Christmas.
This will be the former Elton High School pupil’s first stage role.
She said: “I’m a magical mermaid which is the most feminine, dainty character and I’m such a tomboy.
“I’m buzzing to be making my stage debut when there is such a buzz about theatre.
“I went to see Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at The Lowry and I cried from start to finish, to be at The Lowry, because of the story and to be back out in Manchester.
“There is such a buzz because everyone has been waiting to go to a show.”
And on getting dressed up for her panto role she said: “That’s what I’m excited about – all the glitter and all the sequins.”
Jazmine starred in the 2006 BBC miniseries Johnny and the Bomb, the ITV miniseries The Second Coming, the comedy-drama Shameless and Jimmy McGovern’s drama The Street before Hollyoaks.
She admitted she was nervous to be taking to the stage for the first time.
“I am really nervous. In TV there are subtleties but in panto it’s got to be big and loud,” she explained.
