Hollyoaks fans dazed after realising Joe Tracini's dad is comedian Joe Pasquale

Viewers of Britain’s Brightest Celebrity Family were shocked to learn that ex-Hollyoaks actor Joe Tracini is Joe Pasquale’s son.

The 59-year-old comedian appeared on the quiz show with his family to battle it out for a place in the semi-final.

He was joined by son Joe and his son-in-law Shaun as they took on Corrie’s Antony Cotton and his parents to win the brainiest family.

However, viewers were distracted by the revelation that Joe’s son was very familiar.

The 32-year-old actor played Dennis Savage in Hollyoaks from 2011 to 2014 and again in 2018.

One gobsmacked viewer asked: “How did I never realise that Joe Pasquale is Joe Tracini’s father?! #Mindblown.”

Another joked: “Since when has Joe Tracini been Joe Pasquale’s son?? (Since birth I’m guessing) This news has blown my mind.”

“Well I was today years old when I discovered that Joe Tracini dad is Joe Pasquale,” said a third.

“I didn’t realise Joe Tracini was Joe Pasquale’s son. I’ve been following him for a while now,” chimed in a fourth fan.

A fifth tweeted: “How did I not know that the wonderful Joe Tracini is the son of Joe Pasquale… it’s really obvious now I’ve seen it.”

The Channel 4 soap actor recently opened up about his mental health struggles, admitting that he had been having difficulties at the moment.

Speaking on Twitter the star, who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder, said: “Hi, I hope you’re okay. I haven’t been and I’m going to tell you about that.

“I’ve stopped being able to do all things. I can’t email people back, I can’t text people back, I can’t pick up the phone.

“I needed a wee for like nine hours, I just didn’t go. I live in a studio flat so my toilet is closer than my telly.”

In a heartbreaking admission, Joe admitted that he had been so depressed he had recently planned his suicide.

He said: “So that’s why I am telling you because you might be in that place, where you told someone before that you’re struggling, then you got better – then it’s come back.
