Hollyoaks star Talia Grant has changed their name to Tylan after coming out as non-binary.
The talented youngster, who plays Brooke Hathaway in the Channel 4, is the teenager of Fame Academy icons and vocal coaches Carrie and David Grant.
Tylan, 19, became the first autistic star to land a role in a British TV dramaand made their first appearance in Hollyoaks village back in July 2018.
Brooke is an adopted member of the Osborne family, who is also autistic.
The soap star was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome in 2009, at the age of seven, and has spoken about the difficulties they faced while attending school, due to there being little awareness on the syndrome at the time.

In December last year, Tylan described coming out as non-binary, a gender identity that is not exclusively masculine or feminine, as their “biggest achievement” of 2020.
“Coming out to people has been probably the biggest achievement, coming out as non-binary, that’s probably been one of the biggest transitions in my life and also the biggest achievement,” the TV star.
They have since changed their name on their Instagram profile to Tylan Grant, and added “he/they” in their bio.
Tylan also added: “”The arrow and the heart, growing n growing~ready for a revolution!”
Fans have taken to Instagram to support Tylan’s choice to go public about their identity.
One fan penned: “Hi Tylan! I have autism (Aspergers to be specific) u inspire me so much, your my idol! x”
Another added: “Tylan, you are such an inspiration to me, as a queer autistic person I’ve never felt seen or had anybody in the media that I can relate to, and here you are thank you so much honestly.”

A third person posted: “”So beautiful Tylan!! So proud you are standing up and mandating your needs!”
Tylan made their professional acting debut in an episode of the CBBC sitcom So Awkward as Greta Masters.
Talking previously of their Hollyoaks role, they said: ” “For a long while there has been no representation on screen of autistic women, especially autistic women of colour, so I am really looking forward to developing the character of Brooke and representing something that perhaps people are unaware of.”

Tylan’s mum, Carrie,55, appeared alongside her teenager on Loose Women as they previously revealed that no one believed they had autism when they were first diagnosed.
In upcoming Hollyoaks scenes, Tylan’s character Brooke tells non-binary character Ripley Lennox (Ki Griffin) that she doesn’t feel like a girl.
Hollyoaks airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by a first-look episode on E4 at 7pm
