Sacre bleu! I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! charmer David Ginola is a secret self-confessed “male chauvinist”.
And the Frenchman reckons there is nothing wrong with women bearing the brunt of housework instead of men.
David, 54, who was voted out last night in a shock eviction, said: “I am a typical Mediterranean – a bit of a male chauvinist.
“To my mind, there is nothing wrong with the man going out while the woman stays at home and does the work.
“It’s the Italian mentality and it applies to those in southern France as well.
“Walk into any restaurant in southern Europe and you’ll find groups of men sitting around and chatting and basically doing nothing while the wife is slaving away.”
The former Newcastle United and Spurs maestro said he believes his old-fashioned views stack up in the modern era.
He added: “It’s tradition, and tradition is something I am keen to keep alive.
“We all have to remember where we come from and the principles that have served our forefathers down the years.”
Castle camp hunk David also admitted he was a “total flop” when he tried to have sex on the beach.
The former Newcastle United and Spurs footballer said he was useless at scoring when he was younger – and messed up his first time.
He confessed: “I know some people may find this hard to believe, but my early encounters with women ended in failure. As a teenager I was shy with women.”
David said he was at a beach party at a holiday campsite as a teen when a Belgian girl took a shine to him – but he wasn’t up to it.
He added: “We were kissing and cuddling, in just our swimming costumes, but it was quite a chilly evening and I was freezing cold.
“We went skinny-dipping in the sea, and it was like a scene from the film From Here To Eternity, with us rolling on the beach and the waves rushing around us.
“But I was so cold that when it came to trying to make love to her I couldn’t manage it – I was a total flop, if you know what I mean!
“I almost lost my virginity but was beaten by the cold – proving that your first time is not always perfect.”
