I'm A Celebrity winner Danny Miller admits he tried to get 'leg over' with David Ginola

I’m A Celebrity winner Danny Miller tried to score with football legend David Ginola.

The ex-Emmerdale actor admits he had a “full-on man crush” on the handsome French campmate.

Their bromance was the talk of the series and the soap star joked he was thrilled when the pair got to share a bed together in the Welsh castle.

However when Danny – who was crowned “king of the castle” on Sunday night – tried to get his leg over and cuddle the soccer icon, he got shown the red card.

He revealed: “David was a childhood hero of mine and I was trying to get a leg over all week. I finally got the opportunity to sleep in the same bed with him and he weren’t having any of it.

“He was a bit stiff to be honest. I was trying to get my leg over and give him a little cuddle but he was having none of it. There was a spoon that wanted to become a fork and he lost it.”

Yesterday champion Danny was finally reunited with his fiancee and midwife Steph – whom he plans to wed next summer – and their six week old baby Albert.

The star admits it had been hard to leave them behind to do the ITV show but he had done it as the I’m A Celebrity pay cheque would help give the family some financial security.

The pair formed a special bond in the castle

He explained: “The reason I did this was for them so I can set up a big future.

“I hadn’t put Albert in my arms in what seems for a lifetime.

“Fortunately for him he has no idea I have been away. Unfortunately for me I have missed him.

“He won’t know but I certainly have missed him and I will spend rest of my life making sure I make it up to him.”

Danny – who beat Corrie’s Simon Gregson and The Saturdays’ Frankie Bridge in the final – has now quit Emmerdale where he played gay character Aaron Dingle for 13 years.

He now hopes to carve out a different career in acting.

The star added: “A dream role for me would be something that’s completely away from Aaron.

“I think it’s one of those things that’s every actor’s dream is to play a really tough and dark villain or something.”
