I'm A Celebrity winner Danny Miller slams backlash that he'd 'acted' on the show

Danny Miller wasn’t pleased to learn that I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans had accused him of “acting” during his time on the programme.

Fans of the show initially assumed the Emmerdale star, 30, had been “faking his fears” as he seemed to be petrified of everything.

He even had a breakdown after he had been told by Ant and Dec that he had been selected to take part in the first Bushtucker Trial – which happened to be Dreaded Diner.

Viewers were not convinced as the soap star wretched and gagged while attempting the vile eating challenge – with some suspecting he had “acted up for the cameras”.

In an interview with the Mirror, Danny responded to claims that his phobias had been part of a game plan.

He told the publication: “Bloody hell, if you think I’m putting it on, try eating a load of bull’s c**k and tell me it’s easy. It wasn’t easy at all, it was hard work.”

Danny added: “If something hits the back of your throat and makes you gip, it makes you gip. I’d challenge anyone to eat and drink that stuff and not throw up.”

The TV star explained: “There were a lot of things thrown at us and there were a lot of people saying they wanted to quit.

“They hadn’t signed up for this experience. The Clink was hard. I don’t think I realised how hard it was when I signed up.”

During his time at Gwyrch Castle, Danny had became overwhelmed with emotion on a number of occasions.

One particular instance saw Danny break down in tears after he’d failed to remember David Ginola’s Wifi code – meaning the footballer did not receive his letter from loved ones at home.

The soap star was noticeably distraught, leaving David to step in to console his friend, telling him he “didn’t need a letter from home”.

Despite how tough I’m a Celebrity had been for the new dad-of-one – both mentally and physically at times – it all proved to be worth it when the actor was crowned the 2021 King of the Castle.

It was no easy feat either, with the former Emmerdale cast member fending off stiff competition from Loose Women’s Frankie Bridge and Coronation Street’s Simon Gregson.
