I'm A Celeb's Extra Camp hosts now – weight loss makeover, threesomes and sudden death

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! has become one of the biggest shows on television after first airing back in 2003, shooting plenty of celebs into superstardom.

The spin-off show Extra Camp also saw plenty of big stars take over the reins, with previous winners Joe Swash, Scarlett Moffatt and Vicky Pattison all giving presenting a whirl.

Big presenters such as Laura Whitmore, Caroline Flack and Emily Atack all also won over viewers during their various stints, but plenty of the Extra Camp stars had plenty of drama off-screen as well as on.

From weight loss transformations to tragic deaths, Daily Star is taking a look at what happened to all of the spin-off stars.

Tara Palmer-Tomkinson

Socialite and television personality, Tara was the daughter of Olympic skier Charles Palmer-Tomkinson and regularly contributed to a weekly column in The Sunday Times during the mid to late nineties.

It was later discovered that these were ghost written and were actually transcribed anecdotes of her weekly shenanigans.

Tara then appeared on I’m A Celebrity in 2002, landing second place before returning to present I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! NOW! in 2005.

On her appearance on the first series of Would I Lie To You in 2007, Tara explained how she had once accidentally eaten a diamond worth £10,000: “I didn’t mean to, I was at a restaurant in Paris and a guy put it in my pudding and he was so rat a***d that he forgot to tell me and I ate the whole thing!”

Tara was found dead at her home in February 2017, treated as unexplained but her sister later said that it was caused by a perforated ulcer and peritonitis.

Cheeky chappy Joe won the eighth series of I’m A Celebrity in 2008 but is well known for playing beloved Mickey Miller in Eastenders.

Love blossomed after the jungle between Joe and his co-contestant singer Stacey Solomon and the pair began dating in 2016, welcomed their first child together in May 2019, became engaged in 2020 and had a baby daughter last month.

Despite his fairytale love story with Stacey, Joe’s life hasn’t always been so perfect.

In 2005, Joe was left fighting for his life when a brain bug left him unable to talk or stand without being sick and it was discovered he had meningitis and swelling of the brain.

Joe presented the I’m A Celeb spin-off series from 2009 to 2018, co-presenting with Caroline Flack, Russell Kane, Laura Whitmore, Rob Beckett and David Morgan.

Kelly placed third in Dancing With The Stars in 2009, became a fashion correspondent for E! in 2011 and performed as a ladybird on The Masked Singer in 2019.

Kelly has struggled with addiction and it was reported in October this year that she has been re-admitted into rehab for an alcohol relapse after celebrating four years sober.

It is thought to be triggered by stress as her rockstar father has debilitating Parkinson’s disease and nerve damage, while her mother made the decision to leave American talk show The Talk after a heated discussion about race.

She went on to win Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 and is most known for presenting X Factor and Love Island, a role she left in 2019 due to an arrest on assault allegations.

In February 2020 Caroline was tragically found dead in her flat and was ruled as suicide.

The coroner ruled that she had: ”killed herself after an “exacerbation and fluctuation” of ill health and distress” as her fans and showbiz friends rushed to share their tributes to the beloved star.

Emily Atack

Actress and comedian Emily Atack started her career as iconic popular girl Charlotte Hinchcliffe in the coming of age Channel 4 comedy series The Inbetweeners.

Emily came second on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2018 and a year later Emily returned to the jungle to host I’m A Celebrity…Extra Camp alongside co-hosts Joel Dommett and Adam Thomas.

Bubbly Emily is well known for her outspoken personality and bold sense of humour, and is unafraid to share details of her life in the name of comedy.

She spoke about one late night rendezvous in 2019: “I woke up, had no idea where I was. I s*****d him until about 10am. I left my knickers there. I’ll be seeing them on eBay.”

Last year she also revealed that she began having regular sex with a married couple, but what began as a casual fling didn’t turn out the way she expected: “It was all fun… for a bit until they both started falling in love with me.”

Her party girl habits have earned her a spot on ITV’s comedy line-up on The Emily Atack Show which features segments on stand-up comedy, skits and impressions.

Recently Emily has been linked to England football star Jack Grealish and the pair reportedly seeing each other at her home and in various hotels despite Jack being in a relationship.

Well known for her appearances on Geordie Shore, Vicky won I’m A Celebrity in 2015 and presented Extra Camp in 2016 alongside Joe Swash, Chris Ramsey and Stacey Solomon.

Well known for her loud and brash persona on Geordie Shore, Vicky has recently calmed down and last year she admitted that she regrets having sex on television, saying she felt ‘pressured’ into doing so: “When you are so immersed in something, lines just get blurred and you lose a sense of yourself.

“[On Geordie Shore] I became me but a caricature of myself. Lost in trying to be what I thought everyone wanted us to be: this really outrageous person. I wish I’d never had sex on the telly, like, I absolutely wish.

“I was never comfortable with it. It was something I felt slightly pressured into doing.”

Vicky has recently moved in with her boyfriend Ercan Ramadan and the 33 year old has recently started an Instagram account dedicated to their home renovations along with adorable pictures of their puppy Milo.

Irish presenter and Love Island host Laura is married to Iain Sterling, the show’s commentator and resident funnyman.

The couple wed last year and became a resident panelist on Celebrity Juice the same year. Laura and Iain welcomed their daughter in March this year, and later on got caught in Twitter beef that caused a stir.

As an advocate for the ‘Be Kind’ movement after her predecessor Caroline Flack passed, fans were shocked when Laura lashed out at a journalist.

The writer wrote to Whitmore personally asking seemingly innocent questions about her daughter’s name, but the presenter posted her message on social media and replied publicly: “Vile. My agent received the below email… Niamh Walsh, I’m sure you have better and more pressing things to write about than guessing a child’s name and pressuring someone to talk about it either way! I’ll talk about my child on my terms when I choose.”

Emma and Matt Willis

The couple had a short stint presenting the spin-off show from 2007 to 2008 and Emma went on to become a Big Brother staple.

Willis was granted a maternity care assistant qualification after she assisted on the series Delivering Babies, and went on to train with St John’s Ambulance with her husband to become vaccination volunteers during the pandemic.

Emma’s pop star husband Matt was previously in boy band Busted and won the sixth series of the show.

In April this year, Matt revealed that the Church of Scientology tried to split up his marriage with Emma, saying that he turned to the church after feeling lost: “They were like, ‘There’s someone in your life who’s actually draining you, who’s a negative force, and it’s normally the person closest to you.”

Scarlett Moffatt

Couch dweller Scarlett rose to fame after appearing on Gogglebox and won I’m A Celebrity in 2016 and presents the spin off show Extra Camp after her win.

The star has struggled with her weight and se came under fire for promoting crash dieting after releasing her fitness DVD SuperSlim Me.

She said she follows a diet of 1,350 calories a day to shed the pounds which helped her weight drop from 11st 5lbs to 8st, meaning Scarlett swapped a size 18 to size 8 dress size and went down six bra cup sizes.

In 2016, Joel came second to Scarlett Moffat in I’m A Celebrity and went on to present Extra Camp from 2017 to 2019. Joel admitted to being catfished into Skype sex by a person going by ‘Staci’.

He said: I was added on Twitter by an account called ‘@CelebbustedUK’. In the bio it says, “If we follow you, we have naked pictures of you”. Why would anyone have naked pictures of me?’, I thought.”

He continued, saying that the bio also said: “Follow us and DM us to stop us from releasing them.”

Joel said that there were 84 other celebrities on the page and the story was covered soon after: “It was featured in the papers. The good ones like The Daily Star, The Mirror and The Daily Mail. The articles name a few of the celebrities, and I’m offended and relieved in equal measure I’m so low down the low level that they didn’t even name me.”
