Kadeena Cox opened up about her health battles with Multiple Sclerosis on I’m A Celeb.
The Paralympic athlete spoke candidly to her fellow campmates about the struggles that come with her disability, including the spasms and fatigue that she gets.
She admitted that she gets “embarrassed” about using her wheelchair as she feels like people think that she doesn’t need to use it as she can walk.
Kadeena discussed her experience with MS in the Telegraph on Friday night on the ITV show (December 3).
Explaining her condition, Kadeena said: “MS is an autoimmune condition which is impacting your central nervous system, so your brain and your spinal cord.
“That’s showcased by me having a lot of muscle spasms, I get weakness, and loss of control in my legs and my arms, and then I also struggle with my speech.”
The gold medalist for Team GB explained that she gets her MS episodes when she’s tired and needs to sleep.
Talking to her co-stars Arlene Phillips, Naughty Boy and Louise Minchin, Kadeena said that it’s “hard”.
She went on: “It’s hard, you know? It gets harder because that’s not me all the time, so i get embarrassed using my wheelchair, because I think people think ‘she shouldn’t be in a wheelchair, she walks fine’.”
She continued: “Being in a wheelchair is not the easiest thing because you get judged and you get a lot of sympathy and I hate sympathy, so I just find it really hard.”
Fans were quick to show their praise for the star as they watched the show on Twitter.
One fan wrote: “Omg I absolutely love Kadeena. What a beautiful and inspirational soul.”

A fifth could relate to Kadeena and added: “can relate to you Kadeena. People only see you on good days and think this is normal. On a bad day, they don’t see you and see the struggles. Well done for all your achievements”
