Influencer Kate Hudson has announced the death of her daughter, Eliza Adalynn, who was just two years old.
The toddler had been battling an “aggressive” form of cancer, with Hudson and her fiancé Chance Moore previously setting up a GoFundMe page in her honour.
Eliza had been diagnosed with a rhabdoid tumour, which is a rare form of cancer, made up of many large cells, that is challenging to cure.
Tragically, Eliza died on Father’s Day, June 20, her battle with the disease coming to an end.
Hudson shared the heartbreaking announcement on Instagram, describing her grief in an emotional passage.
She wrote: “My sweet baby girl. I don’t know how we will go on without you. I know we promised you we would we brave, just like you.
“But we are broken. Even though we know you are no longer suffering or in pain or frustrated with what life had become.
“I thought that because we knew you were dying, that your death would not feel so sudden. But it did. I wasn’t ready to see what I saw.
“I woke up this morning, still half asleep, and reached for your hand. But you were not there. You left last night. In a van that took you away. I wanted to run after you.”
Hudson paid tribute to the memory of their daughter, whose cancer battle had been chronicled in the family’s viral TikTok account.
The couple, who live in the US state of Ohio, welcomed little Eliza back in August of 2018.
Eliza had been diagnosed with the disease at just 10 months old, prompting Hudson and Moore to launch the “Hey Eliza” TikTok page.
With more than five million followers to the account, it detailed the child’s brave fight against cancer, documenting the highs and lows.
Eliza would have turned three years old this August.
The blogger continued: “I want to believe you are somewhere with my dad and my sister….and your sister…all loved ones you never met.
“I want to believe you are all together. Dancing in meadows or swinging on trees or walking alongside a beach somewhere with ocean saltwater washing over your toes.
“I also want to believe your soul transferred into us, your Mamma and your Dadda. That you left your little body and gently latched onto our souls.
“That we are now intertwined for life. I want to believe you are still alive somewhere.”
She concluded: “I want to believe I will wake up from this nightmare and you will be there holding our hands. Telling us it was just a bad dream.”
Hudson had previously thanked their followers for their messages of support as the family faced the heartbreaking ordeal.
