Coronation Street’s Paul Foreman becomes embroiled in a serious incident in upcoming scenes.
The fan favourite reports Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) to the police after Summer Spellman reveals she has an emotional connection with her teacher.
The altercation has major ramifications for other characters in the street as the drama unfolds.
Since joining Coronation Street in 2018, Paul has been at the centre of huge storylines, including being revealed as Gemma’s twin brother and reliving his childhood rape ordeal when his mum Bernie’s former boyfriend Kel arrived in Weatherfield.
However, this isn’t actor Peter Ash’s first soap role, and the talent seems to go a long way, as his cousin is also famous television actor that once walked the cobbles too.
Rival soap role
Before he walked onto the cobbles of Weatherfield, Peter had a role in another popular rival soap – Hollyoaks.
In 2018, he played Ron in four episodes of the Channel 4 soap, who was acquaintance of Harley.
While his appearance on the soap may only have been for a few episodes, viewers didn’t have to wait long to see him back on screen, as he won the role of Paul in Coronation Street in the same year.
Footballer’s Wives fame
Soap actors including Gillian Taylforth and Gary Lucy starred in ITV drama series Footballer’s Wives, but it was also the show that gave Peter his first big acting break.
At the age of just 17 years old, Peter played Darius Fry from 2003 until 2006 alongside his future Coronation Street co-star Ben Price, who played Conrad Gates in the popular show.
It was his first television role after finishing his A-Levels, and since then, Peter has had roles in a number of TV series including Casualty, The Royal and The Street, before joining Coronation Street.
Life before Corrie
Peter has previously revealed to The Mirror that he had previously worked day jobs at bars and call centres between jobs, until landing his role in Coronation Street.
He said at the time: “I had some amazing acting jobs, but they were here and there spread out. In between I was doing day jobs like bar work, working in call centres.
“Most of the time as an actor you are out of work. That is why I feel so lucky now to be involved in this show.
“It is regular work and it is the first time in my life I have done regular acting work for over a year.”
Stunning girlfriend
In his private life, Peter regularly shares sweet snaps of him and his girlfriend Amy, who is a nurse, on social media.
The two can be regularly seen out and about, with one photo showing the couple outside the Titanic Museum in Belfast, while in others they can be seen smiling while posing for a selfie outside of a castle, and looking incredible at a friend’s wedding.
In November, Paul shared a photo of him and his stunning girlfriend on a night out to celebrate their anniversary, with Paul praising Amy for another reason too.
He said in the post: “Not only have we been together for 3 years (thanks for putting up with me!), but she has just completed her nursing degree! Very proud of you babe. I love you lots xxx”
Famous cousin
Performing seems to run in the Ash family genes, as Peter’s cousin is also a famous television actor.
He is related to William Ash, who viewers will know as Chris Mead in the television series Waterloo Road, as well as huge roles such as Stephen Snow in Where the Heart is, Jack Stubbs in Soldier Soldier and Ray Cooper in Being Eileen.
Like Peter, William also stepped onto Coronation Street as a youngster, when he played Spike at the age of 10 in 1987.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm
