Inside Danny Miller's sad Emmerdale exit – Liv betrayal, murder twist and return hint

Emmerdale star Danny Miller recently surprised his fans when he announced that he was leaving the show after an incredible 13 years.

Playing the role of Aaron Dingle since 2008, the star has been involved in several hard-hitting storylines such as being arrested for the possession of drugs and his turbulent relationship with Robert Sugden.

Speaking to Digital Spy about his departure an Emmerdale spokesperson said: “Danny has achieved so much during his time at Emmerdale playing the role of Aaron. He has had to tackle some of the hardest-hitting storylines and has made a lasting impact on the show.

“Aaron is a character our viewers took into their hearts and have followed his rollercoaster journey for years. Danny will be hugely missed and we wish him all the best going forwards.”

But now that the actor is getting stuck into castle life in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! we’ve taken a look at how Danny will part ways from the long-running soap.

Danny confirmed his exit from Emmerdale in November just before he headed into the ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

The Emmerdale star admitted that he felt very emotional to leave the programme but believed it was only right to take a different direction with his career.

Speaking openly to the press about deciding to leave the show the father-of-one said at the time: “I’ve actually left Emmerdale, I unfortunately decided to start a new path in life. I’ve got my baby now and I’m [getting] married next year, it felt like the right time to open a new chapter in my life.

“I’m very very emotional about it actually, it’s been a massive part of my life.

“I’ve wanted to spread my wings for a while and a show like this can give me the opportunity to see what happens after it. [I can] start a new life with my family and see what happens.”

Teased murder plot

Fans have been speculating that Aaron could be the next victim of serial killer Meena after she brutally murdered his boyfriend Ben in shocking scenes last month.

Meena has been desperately trying to cover her tracks after attempting to murder Victoria before killing Ben when he threatened to expose her after seeing camera footage.

But as Aaron tries to find out what happened to his love interest, could he be the one to discover Meena’s sick crimes and take revenge on her?

Viewers have predicted Aaron could kill Meena in revenge and end up in prison like his ex Robert Sugden in a sad twist, as one wrote: “Aaron should’ve killed Meena and gone to prison to be with Robert.”

Another added: “Two dead boyfriends, an ex-husband in prison, and an abusive, drunk of a sister, not to mention everything his dad did to him. What would’ve been wrong with giving Aaron the happy ending he deserves? Fire the writers, kill off Meena, make Aaron happy elsewhere..”

A third chipped in: “Poor Aaron, heartbreaking let’s hope he finds out it’s Meena that killed Ben & she gets her comeuppance , can’t stand her!”

Liv betrayal

Danny’s character Aaron is currently grieving over the death of his partner Ben Tucker who was brutally murdered by Meena Jutla.

After discovering that Ben had information that could possibly see her behind bars for a very long time, Meena decided to take matters into her own hands and killed the young lad in cold blood.

But due to the fact that Aaron was keen to leave with Ben if he did manage to get a new job position in Cornwall, Aaron may still decide to leave the village because of this.

Spoilers have revealed Liv could take the blame for Ben’s shock death as she had fought with Ben just before she died, and has also relapsed into alcoholism in recent weeks.

Aaron is left torn over whether to support his struggling sister or to turn against her for potentially killing his chance for a happy ending.

In what could be a final goodbye, he tells Live they bring each other down and he doesn’t have the strength to support her any more, leaving her and the Dingles devastated.

Liv begs Aaron to change his mind, but could his decision to turn against Liv spark his exit from the Dales?

Emmerdale return?

The door has currently been left open for the Emmerdale star

Though Danny hasn’t confirmed if and when he will return to the Dales, journalist and screenwriter Sharon Marshall has said the door is still open for him and they won’t kill his character off.

The Emmerdale writer spoke to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning in November and said: “I hate to confirm it, Danny Miller is leaving Emmerdale. Yeah he’s going, very sadly confirmed he has gone and we’ll see his exit soon.

“I can confirm we’re not going to kill him, I can’t guarantee the jungle won’t.”

Holly then asked Sharon if the door has being left ajar and Sharon confirmed: “The door will be left open.”

Presenter Phil proceeded to ask why Aaron is leaving. But Sharon responded saying: “No, because that would massively give away a storyline.”

Looks like viewers will just have to wait and see what’s in store for Aaron.
