Inside Ed Sheeran’s life – ‘Sheeranville’ home, stunning wife and huge net worth

Ed Sheeran is a pop megastar, no doubt about it.

The Shape of You hitmaker might have begun his career as a humble songsmith with an acoustic guitar, but he sure didn’t stay that way for long.

Now with a reported £57million invested in various properties, a stunning Suffolk estate nicknamed ‘Sheeranville’ and a stunning family, the Castle on the Hill superstar has reached heights many singer-songwriters can only dream of achieving.

And though Ed might appear a little shy, he’s more than happy to give fans a glimpse into his life – including with his upcoming appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox.

From his staggering net worth to his adorable family, we take a look inside Ed’s home life.

Staggering net worth

According to self-development site Wealthy Gorilla, Ed is worth a staggering $200million – that’s the equivalent of around £145million.

That places him within the top 100 richest singers in the world.

Ranking site Celebrity Net Worth adds that Ed racked up a whopping $65million in just one year, between June 2019 and June 2020.

The majority of his earnings come from touring, but record sales and various other jobs also contribute to his massive net worth.

Of course, his impressive worth doesn’t all come from his singing career, as Ed has also starred in numerous films including Beatles-musical Yesterday and rom-com Bridget Jones’s Baby.

Stunning wife

Ed tied the knot with his stunning wife Cherry Seaborn in 2018, after the pair were friends since childhood.

The pair first met at Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk, and Ed had a crush on Cherry seemingly from the start.

But it wasn’t until 2015 that they started dating, and finally tied the knot in December 2018 in an incredibly private ceremony with no celebrity guests in sight.

Though Cherry later attended Duke University in America, it appears long distance wasn’t working for the pair, as Cherry moved back to the UK in 2016 to be closer to Ed.

She was a risk manager in London with Deloitte, but left the high-pressure environment to grow fruit and veg instead.

Her LinkedIn page states she is “working to create a self-sufficient living environment, aiming to produce sustainable energy, as well as all fruit and vegetables.”

Adorable daughter

Ed became a parent for the first time last year, when he and Cherry welcomed daughter Lyra Antarctica into their lives.

The Bad Habits singer opened up about Lyra’s unique name, telling Lorraine Kelly on her morning show: “I realise some people think it’s quite a strange name.

“But my wife’s called Cherry, and she is the only Cherry that I’ve ever met and I think that she’s the only Cherry that she’s ever met and I quite like that. In my class at school, there were probably more Eds.”

He added that the duo “just wanted to give her a name that was unique, so that she would be the only one.”

Ed explained that the TV adaptation of His Dark Materials – starring James McAvoy – might boost the name’s popularity after its heroine who shares the name, and said that her middle name came from a trip to Antarctica the duo took just before Cherry became pregnant.

“It was just incredible. The most amazing place on earth,” he gushed.

Ed even dedicated one of his tattoos to his daughter – an orca close to his armpit, as the killer whale is native to the continent of her middle name.

Luxury Suffolk estate

Ed’s Suffolk estate cost nearly £4million to create, and includes a lake, an underground music room, a chapel, a pub and a treehouse.

Nicknamed ‘Sheeranville’, the property is just one of a reported £57million worth of property investments Ed has around the world, including 27 flats, houses and mansions, according to The Sun.

Ed’s main abode is comprised of a modernised detached farmhouse complete with a billiards room and in-house recording studio.

The estate also includes a Grade-II listed farmhouse dating back to the 16th-century, a four-bedroom home and a separate bungalow.

And aside from his sprawling Suffolk estate, Ed and his wife Cherry also share an incredible home in Notting Hill which cost an eye-watering £19.8million.

The kitchen is decked out with chrome cabinets and a central island, which Ed gave fans a glimpse of in his Put It All On Me video.

Celebrity pals

Ed boasts a whole host of celebrity pals, from country-pop superstar Taylor Swift to Friends actress Courteney Cox.

Ed’s even best buddies with One Direction superstar Harry Styles – and the pair even have matching Pingu tattoos, which they got while on a drunk night out.

Tattoo artist Paul told The Mirror at the time: “When Harry and Ed were drunk they discovered they both liked Pingu as kids.

“So one had the word [tattooed] and the other had the picture.”

And the tattoo professional even showed Ed his way around a tattoo gun and let him get to work on Harry’s arm, inking him with a padlock design.

Ed’s Friends-inspired skit with Courteney Cox recently went viral on Instagram, as the duo perfected their impression of Monica and Ross’ iconic dance from the episode The One With the Routine.
