Given the fact she has been one of the biggest names in the business since “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” which first aired in 1986 and lasted more than 25 years, Oprah has accumulated a staggering level of wealth via interviewing some of the world’s biggest names – including Michael Jackson, Lance Armstrong and now Harry and Meghan.
Winfrey transformed her television show into a media and business empire, and the 67-year-old’s net worth is thought to be $2.7billion (£1.95billion) according to Forbes.

How did Oprah make her money?
She is the only black, female billionaire in the US and ranks 10th on Forbes’ list of America’s richest self-made women.
Though she is best known for her hosting duties, she is also an incredible actress – she was nominated for an Oscar in 1985 for her role as supporting actress in The Color Purple.
After years of the show’s success, Oprah negotiated ownership of The Oprah Winfrey Show, which at its peak earned $300million a year.

Following the conclusion of The Oprah Winfrey Show, the 67-year-old partnered up with Discovery Communications to found her own cable channel, The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), with her 25.5% share of the network rumoured to be worth around $75million.
A shrewd investor, in 2015 Winfrey bought a 10% stake in Weight Watchers for $43million, that same percentage is now worth more than $400million according to CNN.
Forbes 2020 list of highest-paid celebrities saw Oprah come in at 91st, earning a jaw-dropping $37million between June 2019 and May 2020.
