Good Morning Britain became rather heated after presenters Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins quizzed Dominic Raab about their supposed gathering in May 2020.
The Lord High Chancellor of Great Britain appeared on the show via video link to discuss a photo that has emerged showing Boris Johnson and Downing Street staff enjoying wine and cheese in a garden during lockdown.
However, when the presenters asked Dominic about the gathering, things became uncomfortable.
Shouting over the MP, presenter Adil exclaimed: “Give me an example of another group of people who are not in Downing Street that could have done that!
“Give me an example of another group of people in the entire country on May 2020 who could finish work and sat there and had cheese and wine. Give me one example of another group of people.”
When trying to answer the question, Adil cut Dominic off again.
The MP then replied: “Sorry, you’re doing the usual thing of trying to sort of-“
Adil interrupted: “But you’re doing the usual thing Mr. Raab of not answering the question and everyone can see that.”
Seeing the interview take place, GMB viewers shared their thoughts on the conversation which some could only describe as a “car crash”.
Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: “Another car crash interview for @DominicRaab. This man is a national disgrace.”
Another said: “Quick call the emergency services, there’s been another car crash involving Dominic Raab on #GMB.”
A third penned: “Regrettably caught the Dominic Raab interview. I was squirming for him. Surely there’s no-one left who believes the constant lies & utter b******t.”
“Did anyone else see the state of that interview with Dominic Raab on #GMB? Just made the s***e excuses for answers up as he went along. WHEN will we have an honest answer that we can trust from a Tory??? Oh yeah, never,” a fourth added.
At the time the photo was taken, rules in Britain only allowed two people from different households to meet outside in a socially distanced manner.
On the same day former health secretary Matt Hancock, urged people in a Covid briefing to “stay at home as much as is possible” despite the good weather.
The picture which was shared with The Guardian showed Prime Minister Boris Johnson also in the garden alongside his wife Carrie as they sat a table with cheese and wine.
