Jade Thirlwall shows off Little Mix tribute tattoo after 10 years in the band

Jade Thirlwall has shown off her new ink to commemorate 10 years of Little Mix as one of the biggest girl bands in the UK.

On Thursday, the 28-year-old took to her Instagram account to show off her new artwork which was completed by Danny Robinson who is known as one of the artists on the MTV show Just Tattoo Of Us.

She showcased her ankle tattoo which featured the date the group first formed during the eighth series of X Factor which gave them the platform to become the international pop group.

It comes after the girl group decided to take a break from the band earlier this month in order to pursue more solo projects.

In a lengthy statement on Instagram, they wrote: “We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix.

“It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects.

“We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much.”

The girls ended their statement clarifying that the group is not breaking up and that they have plans for more tours and performances later on down the line.

It continued: “We are not splitting up – Little Mix are here to stay. We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future.

“We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more.

“We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever. See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie x.”

The group first formed in 2011 during the eighth series of X Factor

Since their announcement, Jade has gone on to work with and write songs for Billy Porter with MNEK titled Children, that tells the story of how the icon came to be.

The Geordie lass shared an emotional snap of herself with her hands over her mouth alongside a clip of the singer dancing along to her song with a red feather boa.

She captioned the exciting news: “Still can’t believe I’ve co-written a song for @thebillyporter with @mnek @theinvisiblejon.

After 10 years the group decided to take a break but plan to tour again in the future

“‘It is a song that is inspired by my life and everything I’ve gone through to get here’.

“What an honour to help tell the journey of such an icon in the best way we know how. The video for #Children is out now! GET INTO IT.”
