Jake Quickenden has claimed that trolls once told him to “drown” his newborn baby.
The Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Win star, 32, shares six-month-old son Leo with his fiancée Sophie Church, 27.
Having previously opened up about sick trolling which once saw his baby called “ugly”, Jake appeared on Tuesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain where he further opened up about the online abuse.
Revealing that he has sympathy for the trolls themselves, Jake also shared a horrific incident which saw a troll encourage him to drown Leo.
Speaking to hosts Sean Fletcher and Charlotte Hawkins, Jake said: “I can’t get my head around it myself but again, just the way I look at things.
“I say, ‘they must be going through really hard times’, so rather than feel sorry for myself I actually felt really sorry for them and that they’re [not] alright because who would do that?”
He continued: “I think the worst thing they said was, ‘drown him, you should drown him’.
“You can’t get your head around that.”
Jake later said that he “brushes off” the cruel comments and “moves forward” with his own life.
He added: “I think at the beginning it really got to me but the more I sat back and thought, ‘there must be something going on here there’s deeper issues here’.”
The former X Factor contestant can currently been seen starring in the new series of Celebrity: SAS Who Dares Wins, which premiered earlier this week.
On what inspired him to join the Channel 4 series, Jake said: “For me it was about testing myself and kind of showing a different side to me.
“I’ve done the reality stuff, I class Dancing on Ice and the jungle as more reality stuff.
“This is more of a test so I wanted to show who I was rather than just a jokey, mess around all the time and do a few shows.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
