Becoming a father has healed a decade of heartache for I’m A Celeb star Jake Quickenden.
The former X Factor singer has been in turmoil since cancer killed his dad Paul in 2008 and brother Ollie in 2012.
But welcoming little Leo with partner Sophie Church last month has made him smile again.
Jake, 32, told the Daily Star Sunday: “This is the first time I’ve been truly happy for a long time. It’s amazing that Leo has been able to do that for me.
“He has added something that was missing. He’s done something that I didn’t think was possible after losing my dad and my brother.
“What I’ve been through has taught me to embrace and enjoy every second of this. At the end of the day, we don’t know how long we’ve got and we don’t know what’s going to happen. I just want to be the best dad, like my dad was.”
Jake still has sadness that Paul and Ollie aren’t around to meet Leo.
He said: “My dad always taught me to always do my best with everything, so it’s a shame he’s not there to be a grandad.
“It’s so sad Ollie won’t meet him either as Leo would have loved him.”
Jake recently hit out at cruel tolls who told him his baby was “ugly” and should get “Botox”.
Taking to Instagram, Jake called out the vile trolls.
He posted: “REAL POST… So in the past week this little man has been told he needs Botox, that he’s ugly as f**k and that he’s weird looking, me myself have also been told stay off social media if you don’t want to be trolled, it’s so baffling to me that I should have to stay off social media if I don’t want my 4 week old trolled.
“I don’t mind people giving me s**t, as sad as it is I’ve had to get used to being called ‘irrelevant’ ‘ugly’ ‘attention seeking’ nd the list goes on but to troll a innocent child is so wrong and the people doing it seriously need to seek help.
“Also why should I stay off social media if I don’t want him trolled the thought process of some people is shocking, maybe people just shouldn’t troll.
“I enjoy social media it’s full of lovely people who are supportive and I like sharing my ups and downs, I try and be real as possible, but unfortunately there is a dark side of social media and something needs doing about it.
“Anyway rant over!! The lion is 4 weeks today! Cute af.”
He concluded the post by tagging the Instagram post he has set up for his son.
Jake’s journey is charted on Celebrity Bumps: Famous And Pregnant on Wednesday at 8pm on MTV.
