James Bond freak injuries and all the damage done to 007 stars during filming

Movie hunk Daniel Craig was left truly shaken and stirred after an injury to his tackle while playing James Bond, as we reported yesterday.

The 53-year-old actor revealed he got splinters from a piece of wood meant to protect his privates during a scene from 2006 flick Casino Royale, where villain Le Chiffre whips him naked.

But it’s not the only freak injury sustained during shooting for the franchise, as revealed below…

DAN-GER MAN

Known for taking on many of his own Bond stunts, Craig, also lost two teeth in a fight scene in Casino Royale.

He then tore his shoulder, gashed his face and sliced off a fingertip on the set of 2008’s Quantum Of Solace.

He ruptured both calf muscles making 2012’s Skyfall and blew a knee ligament for 2015’s Spectre.

The actor also needed an op after injuring his ankle in Jamaica filming No Time To Die, out later this year. He’s said: “I hurt myself every day.”

Crash, bang, wallop

Hat’s nasty

It’s a myth that Shirley Eaton died after being covered in gold paint for 1964’s Goldfinger, but 007 in the film Sean Connery suffered a back injury in a fight scene with Oddjob.

Harold Sakata, who played the character, himself suffered burns during his death scene while holding on to hot metal bars.

While filming an aerial chase scene with Connery in 1967’s You Only Live Twice, cameraman John Jordan was dangling from a helicopter to get a shot when the blade from another chopper sliced off his foot.

Three years later, the Brit was tragically killed on the set of Catch-22 after being sucked out of a plane.

Moore mishaps

Filming 1973’s Live And Let Die, 007 Roger Moore injured his teeth and knee during a boat chase.

His stunt double, Martin Grace, fractured his pelvis and suffered leg wounds after hitting a pole while climbing on the outside of a train in 1983 movie Octopussy.

Fellow stuntman Paolo Rigoni was killed during the filming of 1981’s For Your Eyes Only after becoming trapped under a bobsleigh.

Hands on

Playing Bond in 1989’s Licence To Kill, Timothy Dalton lost the top of his finger in a scene with Benicio Del Toro, who played an evil henchman.

He recalled: “It wasn’t really his fault, but we were doing the scene where I’m hanging over a meat grinder and he’s cutting away at the wires holding me, and something went wrong.

Come to think of it, we probably shouldn’t have had a sharp knife.”

Pierce of bad luck

While making 2002’s Die Another Day, 007 star Pierce Brosnan suffered a knee injury jumping on to a hovercraft.

Co-star Halle Berry needed surgery after debris from a smoke grenade flew into her eye.

And in 1995’s GoldenEye, Famke Janssen broke a rib when Brosnan’s Bond slammed her character Xenia Onatopp into a wall
