Janette Manrara has revealed she made a “secret pact” with her former celebrity partner Dr Ranj before the pair appeared on a celebrity edition of the Weakest Link.
The Strictly Come Dancing partners appeared on the former BBC quiz show which was formerly hosted by Anne Robinson in an effort to raise money for their chosen charity.
Unlike his professional dance partner, Dr Ranj who was storming through the quick fire rounds as he landed at the top of the leaderboard with the most correct answers given in the last two rounds.
But as the complicated general knowledge questions began to stack up, the It Takes Two star started to buckle under the pressure after the first two stars had been voted off the show.
After the timer ran out the six remaining celebrities were forced to vote out the weakest member of the team and eyes quickly turned to the brunette beauty.
When stand-up comic Romesh Ranganathan came to Dr Ranj to reveal who he had chosen to vote off the show, an audible gasp could be heard from his former dance teacher as he announced his betrayal.
The quiz host noted: “You voted for Janette. You also danced with Janette so I feel like this is a bit of a betrayal.”
Unable to explain himself, the doctor simply said: “We’re really great mates” as he begged for forgiveness from the pro dancer.
It was at this point that the brunette beauty interrupted as she shared their secret promise with the rest of the cast on the show.
She told viewers at home: “We even made a pact, a secret pact that we would never vote for each other no matter what. Don’t trust him.”
As the medical professional confirmed her cheating claims, adding: “We even pinky swore.”
Despite being furious with her former dance partner, Janette was the most voted for contestant to be eliminated from the show and was subsequently knocked out of the competition.
The dancer fumed as she stormed off stage where she was quickly welcomed by Dr Ranj who was eliminated from the next quick fire round of questions by his fellow contestants.
