After four years together, Hollywood sweethearts Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have split, bringing their engagement to an end.
Jennifer, 51, and A-Rod, 45, have vowed to continue to support one another, as they thanked their friends and fans for their messages of support.
In a joint statement, the couple – who got engaged in 2019 – announced they were better off as friends, parting ways amicably.
The statement, shared with Today, read: “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so.
“We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children.
“Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
According to the publication, they struggled to find the time to see one another with J-Lo filming a new movie in the Dominican Republic, while Alex stayed in Miami.
Just last month, the couple addressed split rumours that had been swirling, insisting they were still together but simply “working through things”.
“All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things,” they told Today at the time.
Later, fans noticed Jennifer had posted a selfie from the set of her new film, Shotgun Wedding, with her engagement ring missing from her left hand.
Quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s golden couples with dazzling red carpet appearances and sweet Instagram posts, the pair first struck up a romance in 2017.
Jennifer and her children eventually moved into Alex’s Miami mansion, which is situated in Florida city’s Coral Gables area.
Major League Baseball legend Alex popped the question two years ago while holidaying in the Bahamas, stealing a moment to get down on bended knee.
Jennifer and Alex originally planned to wed last year, but the pandemic repeatedly put their nuptials on hold, pushing the date forward.
The Jenny From The Block songstress has been married three times – her first wedding was to Cuban actor Ojani Noa, with the couple calling things off after one year.

In 2001, she wed actor and choreographer Cris Judd, who fell for the starlet when he was hired to direct the music video for her song Love Don’t Cost A Thing.
Jennifer’s longest, and most high-profile marriage was to salsa artist and Grammy-winner Marc Anthony, welcoming twins Emme Maribel Muñiz and Maximilian David Muñiz in 2008.
They separated in 2011, but their divorce wasn’t finalised for another three years, with Jennifer retaining primary custody of their children.
Alex is also a dad to two daughters – Natasha, 16, and Ella, 12 – with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis.
