Former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has expressed his frustrations at local officials telling him that he can’t use milk from a few miles down the road at his new farm shop.
The car-obsessed star said that he has been banned from using the milk from Gloucestershire to make the ice cream sold at his Diddly Squat Farm Shop in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.
The presenter has swapped cars for the countryside in more recent years as he tries his hand at farming, with a TV show following his efforts called Clarkson’s Farm.

Though it hasn’t been all smooth sailing, as he says dealing with local rules and farming regulations has been an impractical minefield, Gloucestershire Live reported.
Clarkson said: “My shop had only been open a few days when we received a stern letter warning us that our rather lovely ice cream had been made from the juice of cows that lived eight miles away, in Gloucestershire, and that this contravened a clause that said that we could only sell produce from West Oxfordshire.

“Since then we’ve been told that the roof is the wrong colour, that the sign is 0.3 of a metre too wide, that we aren’t allowed to sell teas and coffees, that the gingham covering on the straw bales contravenes Covid regulations, that the car park is a road safety hazard, that the sausage rolls are wrong in some unfathomable way, and that if we were allowed to sell beer, yobbos would come and urinate in the graveyard.”
He also expressed just how “out of touch” the officials are and described them as “guardians of the 19th century.”
The Diddly Squat Farm Shop, which sells everything from £18.50 aprons to milk from a vending machine, has become the main success story of the TV programme.
It has become so popular that this weekend Jeremy had to apologise to neighbouring citizens for the traffic jams caused by fans flocking to the farm shop.
Clarkson’s partner Lisa Hogan, has also previously boasted about how footballing legend David Beckham is a regular customer of theirs.
She said that David is a big fan of their £1 a litre Cow Juice which comes served in traditional glass milk bottles with a picture of a cow on the front.
Lisa said: “Yeah he’s great and he comes with his kids. It’s from the dairy down the road which is amazing.”
