Jimmy Carr decided to have a go at the weather reporting on Good Morning Britain after interrupting Susanna Reid and Alastair Campbell to introduce the segment.
He then appeared onscreen with Laura Tobin’s clicker, and had a go at delivering a weather report.
“Hi, I’m Jimmy and I’m doing the weather, I’m pretty thrilled with this. I’ll be honest with you,” he joked.
Laura stood off screen after sanitising a clicker for him and giving advice, and asked for a picture to be shown instead of an autocue so Jimmy could see what he’s doing.
“Click again one more time,” she instructed as he kept pressing buttons.
“Some people are in a puddle, that’ll be wet” said Jimmy. “It’s gonna rain. Of course it is, look at all those places. Tyne and Wear, Cumbria, Durham, Northumberland.”
“There’s a lot of rain in London. It might be global warming. I don’t know,” he continued as Laura kept asking him to click. “Alright, I’m trying to click!” he insisted.
Getting into the swing of it he continued: “The wind doesn’t look like that. There aren’t lines in it. So doesn’t really tell you anything. There’s some water. The blue represents water. So the sea will be very wet.”
“It’s breezy in East. The winds blowing that will blow over to the west as well. It’s got to go somewhere! Sunny spells. Look at that. It’s just one tiny little bit of Norfolk that’s awful,” he laughed.
“I could have told you that without looking at the map.”
Fans were thrilled at his weather presenting.
“Thank you GMB for having Jimmy Carr, it’s made my day and put a big smile on my face” said one.
“Jimmy Carr doing the weather is spot on! As someone from the North West, I can agree it’s always raining” added another.
“Jimmy Carr doing the weather this morning, truly brilliant, made me laugh. A but more training Jimmy and you wiill be fine” joked one person.
Others were keen for Jimmy to be a regular: “Petition for Jimmy Carr to present the weather daily.”
Earlier in the show, Jimmy savaged the Good Morning Britain theme tune.
Alastair exclaimed: “We’re being heckled by Jimmy Carr. He says the music is weird on this show.”
“It is weird!” insisted Jimmy, before they played various different tunes. “It feels like a pastiche of proper news.”
“Oh come on, it feels like a Eurovision hit! Nil point,” he joked, before saying he was welling up at the sad theme.
